Anybody who's been to Squilver in the last fifteen years or so will have met Jake, our (almost) communal dog. Those who came to our do the other weekend will know that he wasn't too good. Well, about an hour ago he died.

Whilst desperately trying to avoid anthropomorphism, it feels like an olfd friend has gone, and I have this little sneaky thought which I can't get rid of that I hope he's gone somewhere with an endless supply of rabbits and cars (and the odd sheep maybe - 'cos they have deserved it all these years) to chase, with a doggy grin, and tongue and ears streaming in the wind.

Squilver will be a different place when I get home tonight.

A priest I know once said "If our pets don't go to Heaven - it isn't Heaven, is it?" - one of the few times I ever heard her contridict our Bishop.

Trevor. From two anthropomorphists to another.

Condolences.

OK Rick, I give up, I'm sussed. So I can shed a little tear or two.

Oh Trevor, I'm so sorry. The world must have been a confusing place for Jake for quite a while, particularly when lots of strange people descended on his home. He's having a good rest now.

Hugs,

Noreen
xx
