Subject: John Henry & Alan Lomax on Radio From: Don Firth Date: 02 Sep 02 - 12:35 PM Dateline Monday, September 2nd, 2002, Labor Day. This morning KUOW-FM (Seattle's NPR affiliate) broadcast a piece on "Morning Edition" called "Present at the Creation: Exploring Icons of American Culture." This morning's icon was "John Henry—Working Hero." According to KUOW's website (KUOW here), audio will be available tomorrow. KUOW also announced that they will be pre-empting their regular program, "The Beat" to broadcast a program about Alan Lomax. This program is called "The Connection," hosted by Robert Siegel and it originates from WBUR in Boston. Intending to give everyone an alert on this, I checked the link to "The Beat" and it lead me to another link where I learned that it is apparently a re-broadcast and it's already been archived. So if you haven't already heard it or want to hear it again, you can listen to it this afternoon at KUOW's website (or on the radio if you live in this area) at 2:00 p.m. PDT (5:00 p.m. Mudcat time). Or you can listen to it at your leisure on "The Connection" (here). Happy listening! Don Firth |
