Subject: Sunnyside (NYC) Song Circle From: Suffet Date: 08 Sep 02 - 11:01 AM Greetings: The Sunnyside Song Circle, an informal group of friends and neighbors who get together every six weeks or so from September through June, will begin our third season on Sunday, September 22, 2002, from 2 to 7 PM. This first session takes place at my house at 41-05 47th Street in the Sunnyside section of Queens, New York City. All acoustic musical styles are welcome, traditional and contemporary. Please bring instruments, voices, and songs to share. Snacks and beverages are also welcome. After the session we will likely adjourn to a nearby eatery that can accommodate both the most voracious carnivores and the most finnicky vegans among us. My house is a non-smoking, pet-free environment. It's just off Skillman Avenue, two blocks north of Queens Boulevard. The closest subway station is 46th-Bliss Street on the No. 7 Flushing Line. The Q32, Q60, Q104, and B24 buses also stop nearby. For information or directions, please call (718) 786-1533. The Sunnyside Song Circle was initiated by Joel Landy and myself. It is now sponsored by the New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club, as are informal music gatherings in three other boroughs of New York City, but you do not have to be a club member to participate.
