Subject: DARLIN' BE HOME SOON From: Micorazon@aol.com Date: 26 May 98 - 03:28 PM The chorus goes, "Darlin' be home soon/I couldn't bear to wait another minute if you dawdled/Darlin' be home soon/It's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled/For the great relief of having you to talk to." I know the music but can't find the words anywhere -- old folkie type song from the late 60s/early 70s... Tom Rush, maybe? John Sebastian? Tom Paxton? Memory fails me, but I really would love the words. The singer would be a plus. Couldn't find it on the database here or maybe I wasn't looking in the right place... If you can help email me at Micorazon@aol.com. Many, many thanks. (great sentimental value) |
Subject: RE: DARLIN' BE HOME SOON From: Mountain Dog Date: 26 May 98 - 04:19 PM John Sebastian and Lovin Spoonful did it. Here's the URL for the tune in OLGA (On Line Guitar Archive)...a great place to check for things you may not find in the DT database. http://music.lsds.com/guitar/main/l/lovin_spoonful/darlin_be_home_soon.crd |

Subject: RE: DARLIN' BE HOME SOON From: Rockaday Johnnie Date: 27 May 98 - 09:59 AM Yep -John Sebastians back - the J-band stands for Jugband and as such has put out an excellent record featuring guests Yank Rachell & Rory Block--The J band features former Kweskin Washtub bass player Fritz Richmond and there are rumors Goef Muldaur may (have) join them. Great group - Sebastians a wonderful harp player and an excellent blues fingerstyle guitar player |

Subject: RE: DARLIN' BE HOME SOON From: Barry Finn Date: 01 Jun 98 - 10:54 PM Mirco, I was born & raised in Boston, the truth to you I'll tell, 'ok I'll stop', I'm now in southern NH. Where in Mass are you from? The Hawaiian thang is fading, I live on Maui about 18 yrs ago, I could understand the lingo but nobody could get through my Boston accent. I'm listed here if you want to e-mail. Barry |
