Subject: Manuel Wackenheim Appeal Denied From: JohnInKansas Date: 29 Sep 02 - 01:11 PM From the Wichita Eagle, Wichita Kansas, Saturday, September 28, 2002 GENEVA -- A United Nations commttee rejected a Frenchman's appeal of a ban on dwarf tossing on the grounds that it violated his human rights. The U.N. Human Rights Committee backed the French government contenton that the law against dwarf tossing was necessary to protect human dignity. Manuel Wackenheim -- a 3-foot-10-inch stuntman known as "Mr. Skyman" who made his living being tossed -- said the real basis of human dignity was being able to work. ??? John |
