Subject: Free Mudcat-friendly Spell Checker From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 30 Sep 02 - 01:45 AM Thanks to McGrath of Harlow for suggesting download of the Hot Lingo Spell Checker in the "Upgrade is Coming" thread. It's great. No need to type up your message in a WP, spell check and cut and paste to here. Just type it here, right click and run the spell check. Only drawback is that it only works with Internet Explorer (note: this includes AOL's browser which is really just IE with a "skin"). Click Here to go to the download sight. PS: In case you haven't looked at the "Upgrade" thread, The Mudcat upgrade will not include a spell checker. |

Subject: RE: Free Mudcat-friendly Spell Checker From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 30 Sep 02 - 02:24 AM No, John, you don't get to use a spell checker anyway. The Mudcat would be a totally different place if you began to spell like most folks. |

Subject: RE: Free Mudcat-friendly Spell Checker From: Watson Date: 30 Sep 02 - 08:59 AM Another spell checker you could use is Brian Quinion's. It should work - he says - in any Windows program text box. It comes with a choice of dictionaries in various languages - including both US and UK English. And it's free to download. |

Subject: RE: Free Mudcat-friendly Spell Checker From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 30 Sep 02 - 02:09 PM I've been using that one from Brian Quinion for maybe two months, and it has worked for me in any input situation which didn't have a spell checker of its own. I don't find it complicated to use at all. Highly recommended. Dave Oesterreich |
