I'm sure this has been discussed before but it is so obscure and petty I doubt I'd be able to find the right thread.

Why do all threads from John from Hull have a "9" in them. I thought at first he just had slippery fingers and kept sliding off the letter keys onto the number 9 but this can't be right, surely?

Every thread. EVERY thread!

The rumor is that John is extremely fond of "bears" and when he has had a sufficient number of "bears" his typing skills become somewhat less than what would have gotten him an "A" in Mrs. McCormick's "Introduction to Keyboarding" class.

The "9" thing is just a gentle way of poking fun at a friend.

John is a follower of Punch the Horse and in that capacity he trails along behind shoveling shit. Having fuck all to do with the shit he decided to take it home for composting. This would have been okay except that one night he sat down to polish his shoes and since it's a known fact that John doesn't know shit from Shinola, trouble ensued. He got the manure all over his hands and in a desperate plea he sent an e-mail to the Shinola company enquiring as to how he could tell the difference between their product and shit. This really messed up his keyboard. In the following weeks things got even worse when John's geraniums died.

It's a common mistake usually done by those with long fingernails. Whilst reaching for the "o" key, they catch the "9" instead or as well. In a manual typewriter this would have made a nasty jam up of the keys, tangling together, but on an electronic keyboard, the figures get typed in. My biggest one is not reaching far enough for the "?" and getting ">" instead.

hEloo, I just looked at my key bored, to investigate this mistery, and it looks like there is a bit of dried hamster shit under the left bracket key, stopping it going down properley, and I spilled loads of stuff on it as well, like corn flakes and guinneess etc, i will get a new one when i can afford it, 9If you have got a hamster you should let him out to run about sometimes, because they might get bored ataying in the house all the time, he had one of them hamster balls, but they are no good because he got his foot stuck in it, and my key bored is on the flore, because i am using internet TV and i havent got a desk).john
