I'm shopping for a guitar pickup/system. I've heard lots about this new L.R.Baggs iBeam. Has anyone had any experience with it? cheers, Chance

The iBeam is a pretty good system and I have played some guitars that sound good with it. I would, however, suggest you compare withy the PUTW #27 and K&K Western for a bridgeplate-mounted system. Then, of course there are a whole host of under-saddle systems.

After a lot of deliberation and reading of comparative reviews I plumped for the PUTW #27 which works very well for me.

Thanks, Moo. Did you get the PUTW pre amp as well?

Dear Chance,

No I didn't get the PUTW preamp. I run the PUTW through a Fishman external preamp that I already use for several instruments with excellent results (the PUTW does really need a preamp of some type). I believe the PUTW preamp is good from reports I've heard but have no personal experience with it.

Best regards,

moo

Got an I-beam in my 20th Anni. Seagull, and I love the way it sounds!

Thanks Clinton.

Has anyone else tried the PIck Up the World? PUTW #27. The endorsements are great. I appreciate Steve Kaufmans endorsement as well as Moomans (above).

Oops! Wrong product. Steve Kaufman endorses DR Rare phosphor bronze strings. Steve Klein,Steven Stone,John Pizzarelli and others endorse the PUTW. Sorry about that.

Interested in this thread.

Need to put a bug in a fine old dreadnought.

Open to suggestions.

Pre-amps too.
