Rod Clements is now pursuing quite a successful solo career -a really brilliant slide guitarist.

Billy Mitchell, ex Maxi and Mitch, played with them for a couple of years -last I heard they were splitting up, but then again, so were Status Quo!

Ha! I've watched TOTP2 in the last 48 hours and that had Rod Stewart doing Maggie May with John Peel on the mandolin!. Well, when I say on the mandolin, I mean he was on stage but the camera never got anywhere near showing him playing the instrument.

Whatever, it was good to see John there - he is missed.

(Sorry, for those over the pond, TOTP2 is a TV show called Top of The Pops 2 which shows archive "pop" from the main show over the years. TOTP was dropped this year but is rumoured to be making a comeback. Being "of a certain age" I only watch the 2 version now which reminds me of songs of my youth).

It was Ray Jackson who played the mandolin on Rod Stewart's "Maggie May", though uncredited.

The original line-up was Alan Hull, Ray Laidlaw, Ray Jackson, Simon Cowe and Rod Clements.
I believe the present day band only contains one or two of the original band so maybe your Mr.Jolly/Jollie is one of those new boys.
Sorry not to be of more help.
