Does anyone know this tune. Vague recollections of "There's something calling me from way out yonder..." does anyone have the words and some chords for this.

Gypsy In My Soul

Written by: Moe Jaffe / Clay Boland

If I am fancy free
And love to wander
It's just the gypsy in my soul
There's something calling me
From way out yonder
It's just the gypsy in my soul
I've got to give in
To my emotions
I'm only content
Havin' my way
There is no other life
Of which I'm fonder
It's just the gypsy in my soul
No cares
No strings
My heart
Has wings
If I am fancy free
And love to wander
It's just the gypsy in my soul

Here's one correction of the lyric.

It's an easy "mondegreen," but the actual lyric in the bridge is:

I've got to give vent to my emotions,
I'm only content having my way.

Here's a basic set of chords in F. (In the bridge you could replace the alternating Am7/D9 and Gm7/C9 with simply Am7 and Gm7. Similarly the turn-around in the middle of the verse could be replaces with anything suitable).

Thanks Pete. Give Steve my best wishes.

I've also just noticed the penultimate chord in the last bar of the bridge was meant to be Bbm11 (to C7b5), not Cm11.

Mick
Did I fix it right, Mick?

Thanks Joe.

However, as I lay in bed last night, waiting to go to sleep, it occurred to me in the way that things do, that what I meant was Gm11 (to C7b5). And now I find you've made my last (incorrect) correction. Sorry!

Mick
