I 'm just getting in from the tavern this eve, thought I would shoot some shit with ya. I've been having a pretty good winter.No health problems. Happy about that! My voice is getting tattered every week-end lately. I've been helping a friend out with her karoke week-ends. I love it in a way because I am getting a lot of people out singing. and I get to play the Mudcat CD's when they don't sing. Ha! turning these old backwood country people on to music from around the planet and loving it!
Last week end I did it for my friend after the peace rally I went to, and closed the show with "White snow of Springtime" on the plum. It was a perfect end to my day!
Tonight I ended with "The Song" reprise, that I just love. It is so perfect to end each CD with. I'm still singing it in my head.
So other than that I'm just playing music in the morning, playing with clay and mudcat in the afternoon and having a fine winter and life.
So anyone want to just shoot some shit and talk what you been up to? It seems like we all got a lot of time on our hands hanging aroud here so often. Please can we stay away from politics and just BS?

I was taking just one last look through the threads before heading to bed. Sounds like you lead a more exciting life than I (who spent the morning working on plumbing problems, then the afternoon mowing the lawn and dealing with baby squirrels).

I've been playing the Mudcat CD's, and haven't gone looking to see who plays what song (not after listening to the first I picked, Plum, and was enthralled to learn who everyone was). Now I just listen, let it wash over me, and one of these days I'll sort out who is who.

You may catch the Oz folks just getting up, in time for a visit. It's really late here in Texas.

Ok I guess I'm not quite done!
a story-
I have this friend who likes to come into the the tavern and sits at the bar and likes to sing. His favorite is "St. James Infirmary" As a matter of fact, for the last 6 or 7 years he has promised me a tape of all the old recordings of he has of the song, compiled into one tape, but that's another story. Anyway, he gets into this story about going to a concert of an old blues man, and I think he says someone different every time but the song remains the same. The story is this, Sonny Boy Williamson is on stage and he tells the audience I just wrote this song last night and it goes like this...

Darlin' you don't have to worry about going to the dentist tommorrow, Cuz' I'm knockin' your teeth out tonight.
I just love this man! He makes me laugh. Ok- end of story. Am I sounding a little buzzed?

Stilly, I saw you were here on this late hour. Dealing with baby squirrels? My mean old dogs eat them for breakfast! Now that reminds me of a story...
I work at this place where the pine growth is massive, huge and beautiful. Right outside where I work I was talking to some people and they told me to come see what they found. I go with them, and stuck in a hole in the tree was a squirrel. Yes it was dead, and rotting. Poor thing must have got too fat to get out and it died trying to get out of the tree. When I go back this spring it will probably be a skeleton.
Well I didn't say it was a good story did I?
