Mudcats gained a new watering hole yesterday when Magician finally got a pub! It's The Globe at Guisborough, North Yorkshire and he opened last night.

Call in and see him and Gillie if you are up in the area.

Wow how cool - when I was a kid I had a bokk of 'modern fairy tales' called 'The Magician Who Owned A Pub'. It was great.

Bit late for me.   I used to drink in the Globe a LOT of years ago.

Travelling from South Wales might be a problem if I have to drive home.

Having just got back from The Globe I can tell you it's a really nice place to be - even though I've spent hours cleaning the brasses for him!

The locals are friendly and welcoming and it's an excellent pint of ale, Camerons Ruby Red at the moment although there are plans to expand the range in the future.

Watch out for the possiblity of using it for a Gathering   - the flat has enough floor space to fit in half an army!!!

Any Mudcats are more than welcome to drop in - and bring their (musical) instruments with them.

Make it a port of call if you are up that way.

When I was being born, bred & buttered only 5 miles from Guisborough the town had, I think 27 pubs for a population of about 3,000! I don't know how many of them are still open but with competition like that you'll need all the good luck we can bring. I'll pop in when I'm next up there.
