Read in the paper today of the death of Cecile de Brunhoff, the creator of Babar the elephant, at age 99. How many 'catters remember Babar, Celeste, and the 'old lady'who took care of the elephants?

You were probably playing by the rules as you should Padre, but for me, no Obit is BS and Babar is still alive and well and even on HBO today. J.C.

I am certain that my lifelong love of elephants began with Babar and his family. I adored the books; I can shut my eyes now and see some of the pages in front of me. I am glad Cecile de Brunhoff had a long life; I hope it was a happy one. Certainly Babar made several generations of my famly happy.
