Subject: Cajun tune about Napolean From: GUEST,Lisa Date: 12 May 03 - 12:50 PM Does anyone know the name of a beautiful tune that Michael Doucet (Beausoleil) performs - the only thing I can remember is that he introduced it by saying that it related to Acadian history and Napolean. I have the melody in my head but, since it's sung in Cajun French, I don't have any of the lyrics. You folks do wonders - I've seen it. Any ideas on this? |

Subject: RE: Cajun tune about Napolean From: GUEST,Q Date: 12 May 03 - 01:48 PM Amazon lists about 17 cds of this group. You might try searching the track titles. I have a couple, but not the right ones. There are also some mixed group cds. |

Subject: RE: Cajun tune about Napolean From: Nerd Date: 12 May 03 - 02:35 PM The group Garolou from Acadia/Quebec (members from PEI and Quebec) used to sing a song to the tune of Bonaparte's Retreat, about the relation of Bonaparte and Louisiana. The tune was trad, but the words were new. I think they just called it "Retraite de Bonaparte," so you might search the web for this. |
