But really, I'm from the Washington, D.C. area and if it weren't for football (soccer included) D.C. Has had some really crappy teams.

Fir starters, the WNBA Mystics. Hmmmmm? The "Mys" in Mystics is fir missed shots. Loosers...

The Bullets/ Wizzards. This is the loosen'est franchise in the history of sports. Hey, they go thru coaches and players faster than than most folks go thru a gallon of gasoline. I mean look at the Pistons. They, at least went to the playoffs with 2 (Ben Wallace and Richard Hamilton) former Bullets players. Throw in Cris Webber and Rashed Wallace and you have a great team...

Then we have the Caps. Abe Pollin owns them and me advice to him: Fire everyone, then quit.,...

Canucks, I thought they dropped out of the N.H.L. when Pat Quinn Left. Although, they are finally wearing decent uniforms. Had they had Richard Brodeur in goal this year they might have gone all the way. (and I think he's 52 now.)

Steve: I'm wanting to look at hockey camps in Canada also....that would be my preference anyway, cos everyoen knows Canadians are nicer than Americans!! ;)

I understand that there is a Beautiful new arena in Nottingham. The one that we played in was fairly old, but very nice. You're right, there are some real fans there as there were in Streatham and Durham.

The arena was the least of our concerns in Whitley Bay, I'll send you a PM to tell you a story or two.

Why would you go to a hockey camp in the U.S.? There are tons of great ones in Canada.

You know, there was only one thing I wanted when i was younger and that was a pair of hockey skates....from the age of about 5!! Quite strange for someone in England. But my parents always said no, I'd never use them and they'd just be a waste of money.......they can't believe it now!! And I think they might help me with money towards kit and hockey camp in the states next year. I really want to push myself so I'm going to get myself to the states and go on a camp. Best start saving now!!

I understand why you liked Nottingham so much.....not only are they really passionate about thier hockey, the ice is also some of the best in the UK!! There is a new rink at SHeffield and the ice is beautiful there....it's better than sex!!

Was Whitley Bay ice rink as horrible as it is now? Could you see the concrete through the ice?

Hockey is one of this things that I put on high ignore, especially in June. It was a great game once but it is dying of greed...too many teams...too long a season...too many teams in the play off. Who care really ?

I toured England and Scotland with a Canadian Team in '82 and '83. Whe had a lot of fun. Played against Nottingham, Peterborough, Streatham, Billingham, Durham, Whitley Bay in England and Murrayfield an Fife in Scotland. We played against Tony Hand(?) in Murrayfield, he ended up getting drafted by the Edmonton Oilers. Is he still playing? My favourite place to play was Nottingham, they really loved their hockey. I passed on an opportunity to go play for the Durham Wasps, kicking myself that I did.

I understand that a lot has changed over there and that the Premier League is very good.

How can you leave Bernie Parent off of that list? One of the greatest goalies ever to play the game. I believe he won two Conn Smythe Trophies as Playoff MVP. What a shame his career was stopped short by the eye injury.

Actually, keeping in mind what happened to the Angels baseball team, had the Ducks won they wouldn't have been a Disney team by next season.

Good series for the hardcore fan, bad series for the casual one. Very tight technical hockey with weird bursts of sloppy play. As to the Ducks, I think they have a better shot now that they've been through the grinder. Hopefully, next time around they'll have some composure for Cup level road games.

Then again, same could be said for the Devils...

I am more of a Maple Leafs fan than a hockey fan, I lose interest when the Leafs are eliminated. I have to admit that I followed longer this year, got more and more interested as the Ducks continued their giantkiller role. I don't think that it was one of the best finals ever, actually, the first four games were pretty boring. But I admire Anaheims tenacity. I am glad that they didn't win though because Disney would have done another bunch of Mighty Ducks movies, which were an insult to anyone who has ever even seen a puck, let alone played this great game.

For anyone else who's interested in Ice Hockey......

Did you watch the Stanley Cup....and if so don't you think it was one of the best ever?

It looked at first like the Ducks would be out but they pulled back games 3 and 4 to bring it even. I can't believe it went to seven games!! I'm really gutted the ducks didn't win, they deserved it more than the Devils in my opinion. I don't think I've ever seen Giguere play so well.

I'm a Maple Leafs fan, but out of the two teams in the final, of course I was going to support the Ducks.

Well played I say and hope they do it next year...that is unless the Leafs get into the final!! :)
