Subject: Lyr Add: JUST A STRAND FROM A YELLOW CURL From: GUEST,FOUND ON-LINE Date: 12 Jun 03 - 09:26 PM CHORUS: Just a strand from a yellow curl Brings memories of our girl. An angel here on earth she seemed to me. But the master called one day And took our child away. Now all we have is a strand from the yellow curl.
The family bible holds in its pages yellowed, old,
Each day we miss her more: |

This is a different version from the Blue Sky Boys', and I'd still like to know if anyone has an idea what they sing in that one line I can't understand. Thanks, Todd |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Just a Strand From a Yellow Curl From: GUEST,Todd Rose Date: 17 Jun 03 - 08:34 AM Thanks, Gene, for your input. You may be right about "her angel face". On listening again, I also think they may be singing "tottering feet" or "toddling feet" rather than "darling feet", as I had thought. I suppose the version on "Radio Vol 1" is a different recording from the one I have, which is from the Rounder Records disc titled simply "The Blue Sky Boys", 1976 - the words may be clearer on the recording you have. For anyone who might be interested, here's the first verse and chorus as I understand them: The old family bible holds In its yellow pages old A treasure far more dear to me than gold And I shed a silent tear Every day as year by year This treasure grows more precious to my heart Just a strand from a yellow curl Brings memories of our girl An angel here on Earth to me she seemed But the Master called one day And took our child away Now all we have is a strand from a yellow curl |
