Subject: Lyr Add: THE JOB SONG (Bob Clayton) From: Songster Bob Date: 20 Jun 03 - 01:07 PM I don't normally post new lyrics, particularly here, where tradition counts, but I got this one to where it seems nearly finished, and, being topical, it has a short shelf life. So here it is. No "finished" tune yet, but a notional one is there in my head. Now to transfer it to my fingers. The Job Song
Don't make enough to get a tax break, son?
Chorus: Get a job! Get another two or three!
We cut the working poor out of the tax-cut bill this year – Repeat Chorus:
While the moneyed folks get richer, the working folks get kids, Repeat Chorus:
So when a working man asks, "How come I don't get none?" Repeat Chorus: ©2003 Bob Clayton Thanks for reading. Bob |

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Political lyric -- the Job Song From: Joe Offer Date: 20 Jun 03 - 01:26 PM Aw, you should post your songs more often, Bob. They may not make it into the Digital Tradition (although several are in the DT), but they're always welcome in the Forum. If you come up with a MIDI for the tune, you can e-mail it to me and I'll put it in Mudcat MIDIs. --Joe Offer (click to e-mail)- |
