Subject: RE: Low Tech: Spam Blues From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 22 Jun 03 - 10:42 PM Dear Mr. Hull,
Your Web-Television address at kitv.co.uk appears to still be receiving e-mail. Therefore, you are not accessing THAT account...inwhich case, YOUR verasity is intact (but you are an ignoramous because you THINK it was changed) or your verasity is challenged and you have been bitten by the hare of the dog.
Have a grand week on your pension....I am off the dole.... and on to honorable work again.

Subject: RE: Low Tech: Spam Blues From: JohnInKansas Date: 23 Jun 03 - 09:10 PM The original question does bring up an interesting point. I have a hotmail "dummy" email account - that gets a fairly large amount of spam. More than half of it goes into the Inbox. I can change my "filter" settings to get a different half sent to Bulk Mail, but it just swaps other stuff to the Inbox, since they limit the number of "blocks" you can set. The only way hotmail provides to delete from the Inbox is to put a check mark in each "select" box, and then click delete - if I use IE to get into hotmail. They will let you "Empty the Box" in the Bulk Mail box. If I use OE to go to hotmail, I can "Select All" - "Delete" and get rid of all the junk in the Inbox in one "swell foop." But then hotmail won't let me clear the "Deleted Items" box (in OE). So after Delete All in OE, Close OE, Go back to hotmail in IE, empty the Trash bin, exit hotmail (back to mudcat?), reopen OE to sync with the "empty" account - gets rid of all of it. They probably wonder why I always go in 3 times at each shot, but it's a lot quicker than putting individual checks on several dozen individual items to get rid of them. I can usually get the Delete All operation done in OE before more than 4 or 5 get sent to my machine. They also complain frequently that they "only provide beta support for OE" - as in I should really use my html browser to access hotmail. Obviously, if I wanted to read all their ads, I'd go in on IE first... John |
