Subject: New FC: Gloucestershire, nr Stroud From: Mr Red Date: 25 Jun 03 - 06:22 AM The Crown Inn, Minchinghampton. every Thursday. John Mills (0)1453 884312. Emphasis on music, song (lusty ballads says he) and poetry is dissauded. Non smoking in the clubroom. 8pm start (oh yea?) so ne it is not yet on cresby.com the Minch is in a lovvvvvvvely backwater of the Cotswolds and across Rodborough common. Superb stone "Inn" in the centre of a quaint and affluent stone village. John is more yer "fun" than stuffy organiser so be prepare for enjoyment. |

Subject: RE: New FC: Gloucestershire, nr Stroud From: Billy the Bus Date: 25 Jun 03 - 08:31 AM Hi Mr Red, Posts like yours improve my UK geography no end. Just had a wonderful hour wandering round Minch.. it's only 10 miles from Wotton-under-Edge, where one of my forbears possibly hails from. i found the following on one site.... Village centre hotel. Australian landlord has an extensive collection of sheep farming items in non-smoking bar. That was 1995 - if the same landlord is there he could know some OZ shearing songs. Cheers - Sam in NZ - so can't join you. |

Subject: RE: New FC: Gloucestershire, nr Stroud From: GUEST,Mr Red Date: 26 Jun 03 - 07:48 AM Minch FC Starts July 3 Cheers Sam - say hello to the sheep for me. Spent 18 months in Wellington - Hataitai and Ngaio - saw a lot of scenery and sheep - and got tired of the sheep sausages very quickly. What Folk Clubs do you have near you? |
