He's been super busy and has had a lot to do over the past year. He'll be mad at me for saying so, but he also has this silly notion that people don't care for instrumental music as much as vocal with backup. I've told him it isn't true...maybe he'll believe me now if he sees this thread. I'll send him an email and try to sweet-talk him.**BG**

Well it may well be different in Toronto, but in this part of the world in my experience, there's generally far more instrumental music played in informal sessions than there are songs (and more often than not the songs are sung unaccompanied anyway).

Well, geez, being a trumpet player *I* think that pure instrumental music is just great. Other things are called "songs" or "choral music," but instrumental music is pure!

As far as I know, from recent emails, he's doing fine, just not visiting the Mudcat much these days. Still playing guitar like a dream, too!

If you don't really remember, it was probably in the 60s. I'm missin' a whole friggin' year. 1967--I'm not suer it ever happeed in real life. I mean, has ANYONE ever seen a calendar of 1967? Ah ha!

We were married on Jan. third of 1967. Still are together. I can vouch for the year----it did happen. 'Twas a good one. Gasoline (petrol) was .30 a gallon. On a small inheritance we travelled and sang for three years. We retired first pretty much----while we had the strength to climb the mountains and walk the trails. Now we're both disabled---each in our own ways. I took lots of photos and made lots of memories. The more things change, the more they get different---so it's always a great parade to watch.

Hell, I just wanna know whatever happened to my Stevens steel slide! I've been reluctant to order a new one 'cause the old one will turn up as soon as the new one arrives and then I'll have two so I'll lose 'em twice as often. I'm probably going to totally forget how to play Dobro before the thing turns up. Is there some Hawaiian slide guitar god I need to sacrifice a virgin to or something?
