Looking for lyrics fopr a Bernard Cribbins song (mid 1960s) starting "one sunny morning at a busstop, I met a girl with hair so red ...' I think it is called "redhead" but am not sure. I am actually looking for both the lyrics and the tune. Any hints? Thanks in advance. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bernard Cribbins 'one sunny morning a From: GUEST Date: 11 May 08 - 12:06 PM Followed by: I tried to sit me down beside her But I had to stand instead I suggested when the journey had just begun That I could buy her ticket and we might have fun You're asking for a fourpenny one That's what the red head said to me That's what the red head head said But then the bus got crowded And we got very close I gave her a look that implied a lot she gave one back saying definitely not Whatever way I tried to date her The light was clearly red But eventually she said "if you're on the square I think that you and me had better step upstairs Daddy's up there collecting fares" That's what the red head said to me That's what the red head head said ..... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bernard Cribbins 'one sunny morning a From: GUEST,Phil at work Date: 12 May 08 - 08:32 AM According to Mr Google, the song's called "Red head" and it was on the 1962 EP release of "Hole in the ground" (released at the same time as the single). As well as that song and the B-side "Winkle-picker shoes" ("'Ooray for gum boots!"), the EP included "Red head" and "Folk song", aka "All the while". I know this has been raised before, but has anyone got the choon for "All the while"? |
