Ok, I may be wrong about her first name,I'm not sure since I read the obit 3 days ago. After reading the Bob Hope obit, I think we're ready for a non-controversial obit. For 40 years, Ms. Barbe was the voice on all phone company recordings. She told us the correct time, why our calls couldn't get through and more recently, which button to press to get whatever person you wanted to speak with, and plenty of other info.

We used to have the same over here (UK) until they replaced her with a man.

I rang her often, she had a sexy voice and always had the time of day, but that's probaly more than you need to know about my sordid sex life ;)
