And holds the 8th press conference of his administration. Number of press conferences held at a comparable point in the 4 years of his two predecessors: 33 for Clinton, and 61 for his daddy.

As Reuters is cleverly pointing out the obvious in this article:

"Bush Accepts Blame for African Uranium Charge"

The article draws, in stark relief, the ability of The Resident Rat to tell bald faced lies:

"After weeks of blaming others, President Bush for the first time accepted responsibility on Wednesday for making a now-discredited charge that Iraq was seeking uranium from Africa.

"I take personal responsibility for everything I say," Bush said when asked about the disputed claim during a wide-ranging White House Rose Garden news conference."

I'm sure his handlers are relieved he'll be going on his month long siesta soon. With clarifications like that, and this one too:

"Bush also denied exaggerating the Iraqi threat in the runup to the war...and said his decision to go to war was based on "good, sound intelligence" that Iraq was developing weapons of mass destruction."

Right, they just can't show it to anyone. Like the 9/11 commission information requests, Cheney's Energy Task Force...

He also said "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman and I believe we ought to codify that one way or the other and we have lawyers looking at the best way to do that..."

Our tax dollars at work. I'm so glad that with the current economic crisis we are facing at the local, state, and federal level, that the Bush administration is working on ways to pass legislation putting the government in our bedrooms again, as soon as the Supreme Court issues an historic ruling, kicking the government out of citizen's bedrooms.

So, anyone feeling better about The Resident Rat, the war on Iraq, the economy, and the state of marital unions after this press conference?

Dear Guest

Our Resident Rat has been doing nothing less than his best to put forth the beliefs of the Christian Right, in & out of the bedroom, in & out of his holy houses. He's also doing his best to bring down the quality of the aid we breathe, the water we drink & the food we eat not only here in the US but worldwide. His drive against health, aids in Africa (where's the money & support?) in particular & elsewhere is sickening not to mention his personal EPA doctrine, "give up our natural resources to the big guys". His protection of the Insurance industries, Firearms Manufacturer's, Drug Lords & Oil Barons is worthy of an international investigation. While his treatment & crippling of the UN & the rest of the smaller world is equal to exhortation & his foreign policy (which was foreign if not alien to him when he stole office) of colonialism, the present practice of our war/police waging, his intolerance of other cultures & governments (that don't fit his ideal mold) is nothing short of world dictatorship & international terrorism. The way he likes to shoot from the hip to help himself & patch & leave the mess for other nations to clean & pay for has the world dying to act in any way possible, against us, here & abroad. Meanwhile at home the country's going to hell in an empty handbag, education means leave all the kids in the swill. The elderly can't decide whether to stave from lack funds or wither away from the unaffordable medications. The beautiful caps he's trying on for size for the AMA/insurance 'male' practice & the (again) Gun Manufacturer's is leaving him to look like the Twin to the emperor with no clothes & in the MEANtime sacrificing the (US) Citizen to wealthy vultures shows he has no more respect for those at home as those abroad. As for our security & it's cost to our freedoms & the bill for our rights has our hands shackled, deafened our ears & dazzled our now blinded one eye leaving only our mouths without tongues to waggle. His WAR MACHINE now would just love to wager on death counts, I'd rather put the bookies on the street back in business at least some of them paid state & federal taxes, probably far more than the lotteries & casinos (they had the decency not to bet on the grim reaper. God help the FCC & the media, the news organizations, the US controlled tv channels, the Hollywood oppressed/depressed war regulated film industry, the polluted airwaves & the WWW://, my & your telephone & PC.

Of course I feel so secure & better about my sexuality, security, health, & my state of reunion & affairs, NOT.

We'd be far better off if some God fearing nation committed a preempted against our shores to protect us from ourselves & them from US.
Barry

Well, Bushes handlers figgured it was best to dump now. Get it over with and go on...

Problem is: He lied!

Second problem is: He invaded a counrty with a third rate army based on lies.

This ain't rocket science here.

Sure, the man has a life times worth of *passes*. His daddy has bailed him out more than once. He tried to be a businessman and blew it. He was a crappy Governor ot Texas. And now he is a crappy Resident as well as being a liar.

But, like I said, his handlers felt he needed to do this little confessional. Just like when he needed the Chrostain Right's votes.

"Awwww, I've sinned and I'm awfully sorry for it and God has forgiven me..blah, blah, blah"... Unsaid: "Man, Iz an alcoholic, coke haed womanizer and I wanta be elected so I'm faking to be some "forgiven sinner" so you all won't ask me any questions about my 'sins'"...

What a friggin' joke!

Boy, I'd love to die a few minutes after Bush and get to watch his *dog and pony show* at the Pearly Gate before St. Peter.... What a hoot that would be...

Bobert

More great links to All the Resident's Lies (and the photo op that captured the fool's mission he led us on):

Steve Perry's Bush War blog

The Resident's Repudiation of Nigergate

And a knock knock joke by the Resident:

Knock knock.

Who's there?

Orange.

Orange who?

Orange you glad I didn't tell you what a pain in the ass it would be to stabilize Iraq?

But seriously folks, would someone please tackle Donald Rumsfeld, and lock his ass up until our "Countries Destroyed to Countries Rebuilt" ratio is closer to "1"?

Ba da boom!

I wonder where the next dire threat to America and FREEDOM will arise? Iran? Syria? Cuba? Or will it be a surprise "guest country", a wild card on the Empire's latest popular media show "The War On Terrorism", scheduled to run almost indefinitely on most of these stations or at least until hell freezes over. Can we expect another thrilling installment of pre-emptive invasion of a small, wretched country by the World's largest military machine before the next presidential election? Liberia clearly doesn't fit the bill...much too low on the ratings. Is North Korea still a possibility? Stay tuned, folks! Don't touch that remote. It might just go off in your hand...

Tell you one thing, I'm mighty glad I live in Canada. No one has ever invaded us since 1812 and no one is likely to either, unless G.W. decides that Little Hawk must be stopped! Yikes!

We understand Canada has a weapons program.

We understand Canada is doing nuclear research. They have been involved for decades with massive instruments of potential destruction such as the Niagara River.

We understand Canada has an oppressive government that has been known to voice critical thoughts about our Resident.

Let me just add that the War on Terrorism knows no boundaries, and recognizes no excuses for terrorist activities.

Be advised: we have limited patience....

Hi Bill, I don't not like the piece of shit (GWB), I just think of him (I'll be overjoyed when I no longer have to think of him) in the same way as I'd think of a dying snake who's poisoned all it's come in contact with & then turned on itself & in it's stupidly bit itself in the ass & is now asking that the blame belongs elsewhere (he shouldn't have had his pants down & he wouldn't have been caught in his lies).

I was holding back, Bill, I don't have enough memory on my PC or in my brain to continue for another 24 hrs.

Barry

I heard a warning on NPR news, a day or two ago, from the government, that another nine-eleven type attack is imminent! They've cried "wolf" so may times now, who is going to believe them?!

This is life under terrorism. Get used to it. It's good govt. Keeps the people in line. It'll only get worse when the social engineers...the Democrats...are in power. The neo-con Republicans are actually socialists, but they at least have to ACT like they respect individual rights over mass rights. Wait till the lefties inherit the power to shut down America with a Code Red and shoot anyone who ventures outdoors...mass round-ups and transportation to local sporting facilities for forced injections...etc. All that stuff is in the Homeland and Patriot Acts, like a bomb waiting to go off. Someday you folks are going to miss ol' GWBush.

My favourite t-shirt/bumper sticker/badge company, Northern Sun, has a great page of Advice for American Patriots. Well worth the read, imo.

The Neo-cons are socialist? Sounds like George Orwell to me.

Well, yes, the Neo-Cons are socialist in that they pursue policies which inexorably put society more and more in the control of huge centralized authority structures which are impervious to the ordinary public...namely corporations, political party machines, and the military-industrial complex.

They are non-socialist in that they definitely do not believe in providing free medicare to the public or giving everyone a fairly equal standard of living, education, etc. They believe in quite the contrary to that...maintaining and enriching a privileged elite and leaving the rest of us to survive as best we may in a steadily deteriorating situation.

Depends on how you look at it when you use the term "socialist". I'd say they're strong in the evils of socialism (overly centralized and remote power and authority), but totally opposed to its benefits (aid and assistance to the common people).

Those who consider socialism to be a dirty word, of course, can only see the evil aspects of it and are oblivious to the good ones.

The fact is you can totally pervert ANY system...socialist or capitalist...by simply handing power over to a group of self-interested scoundrels. The problem isn't socialism versus capitalism. The problem is elitist oppression in the name of one or the other instead of responsible government of, by, and for the people.

According to my poly sci textbook, when government and corporations are so intermingled that they are essentially the same thing, that's called "fascism."

Of course, folks get upset if I use terms like that. . . .

Interesting that Kennedy is being so blunt.

"It's looking more and more like a case of mass deception," Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., said after Kay briefed the Senate Armed Services Committee (news - web sites). "There was no imminent danger, and we should never have gone to war."

I greatly resent that the title of this thread implies that George W. Bush is a rat. George W. Bush is not a rat. Richard M. Nixon was a rat. George W. Bush is a weasel. THIS is a rat. THIS is a weasel. See the difference?

You have my profuse apologies for the egregious error of fact I made, Bee-dubya-ell.

But I must plead ignorance as to what the weasel equivalent is of a rat hole. Can you enlighten me?

A weasel den, maybe? Not real sure, but you can bet that Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft and Rumsfeld all share the same one. They are, after all, The Axis of Weasels.

Well, I understand that Cheney is putting an addition on the VEEP underground weasel den--surely a sign that Axis weasels are prolific, even when they are forced to resign, again and again and again, like Poindexter Weasel.
