I have a recording of this song but I need the printed lyrics to help me understand some of the meaning, can anybody help.

Ah Ferg!!! I heard Thomas O'? sing this in Cararua back in 86? while sitting in front of a pub in a car with Jerry O'Sullivan the Uilleann Piper. This huge voice was comming out of the pub and suddunly we realized it was live, sounded like it was amplified, it wasn't. We were looking for our stroke rower in our currach crew, Greg Brennan, (now on Telivision na Gaeltacht) so in we go, and what a day. I got out my flute Jerry got his pipes, what a day. I hope someone comes up with the words, one of the GREAT immigration songs. Is it O'Kennidy?

The Words are in a book titled, Croch Suas. It is a great song. My home computer is down at the moment. I'll save this thread to add the lyrics later if noone else comes up with it.

After a long search, here,at last, I found the words to Coiln Phadraig Sheamuis. I now would love to know who wrote this lovely song, is it traditional or modern, and who was the man who sang it. Is there a CD available. Thanks. Amor

Hi Amor.

'Cóilín Phádraig Shéamuis' was written by Pádraig Ó hAoláin and I have him singing this wonderful song on a compilation double CD produced in 1997 by Raidió na Gaeltachta to commerate the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the station in 1972. The name of the CD is Togha agus Rogha.
