Here in the USA we are not allowed to buy the Danish malt liquor "Giraffe". We only have a poor US brewed look alike.

UK can get it and I have been offered to buy a pallette and have it shipped by UK distributors.

After 5 years of internet requests I still have had no help in just getting a case or two of my favorite Danish Giraffe malt liquor.

God knows what the white stuff that swirls around the bottom of the bottles is, but one bottle is bliss and two makes the floor very comfortable.

Are there any Mudcatters that can help and make a reasonable profit for their efforts in Fed Ex ing me the real Giraffe?

That's a new beer to me - I'll look out for it. That white stuff sounds ominous though...

I, personally, would never drink anything called "malt liquor." It's not liquor (spirits) and from the looks of the picture McGrath submitted, bloody little malt.

Don't know where you live Donuel, but I think a trip to Canada may be in order to achieve your quest.

In a similar vein, there are Polish vodkas with a blade of Buffalo grass in them that taste divine; not available in the US, but are in Canada -- Tom

Actually looking at it again that link wasn't too relevant.

This one might be - and if it is, beer with a 7.3 alcohol per volume strenbgth should be strong enough for anyone, curmudgeon.

I assume that if the beer is conditioned (ie the secondary fermentation that provides the fizz occurs) in the bottle, that the white stuff in the bottom is yeast.

Ah!!!! Fond memories of "Worthington White Shield".
Make sure the bottle has been standing a goodly while, handle it gently, and pour smoothly, allowing the sediment (yeast) to be trapped where the bottle narrows suddenly at the neck.

The thing to do with White Shield was to pour it dead carefully to keep the dead yeast in the bottle - and then drink what was left out of the bottle. Or if you wanted to cause the real ale freaks to have a heart attack, pour it out ever so carefully - and then right at the end, tip the rest into the glass. Still tasted pretty good.

If you want an American beer with "white stuff on the bottom" and/or a faint cloudiness, look for something called "weiss" which is German for white. There are several small breweries that produce a variety of beer called weiss, for example, Leinenkugel Honey Weiss, from Wisconsin.

Follow McGrath's instructions - and then swirl the dregs in the bottom and chug the yeasty-beasties. Lots of B vitamins and makes you fart like a bull.

For "real ale" in America visit your local home-brew society. Cheaper, better, stronger.

I've had several nice beers, both local and imported, with unfiltered yeast in the bottle and high alcohol content. Never had the Danish stuff, and 'probably' would prefer more flavor than most "malt liquors" seem to have. Good luck, though

Great second link McGrath, the comments on that site tells me its the stuff and the picture was dead on. I guess it was not a malt liquor after all but a strong lager.

The home brew thing might be fun.

Its a 10 hour drive to Canada.

I've driven a round trip of 500 miles just to get some lemon stuffed olives.... (well, OK, there was a folk festival in the town as well, but the olives are worth another 500 miles round trip). The tinned ones are just not the same.

OK - given that you are not looking for a secondary fermented ale......or a Lambic style....you might try a twelve-pack of SamAdams Oktoberfest lager. Its abv is nearing 7.0 percent....mild hops and heavy residual sugars, give it a full mouth and make it a sipping brew.
