Subject: BS: National Beard Registry=National News From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 29 Oct 03 - 10:30 PM Okay, so not quite a year ago I started THIS THREAD, inviting bearded Mudcatters to join in on my friend Jerry's new just-fer-fun site, The National Beard Registry. Several brave 'Catters took the plunge and joined up. Little did they know that within less than a year the silly little website would be an item in the national news! That's right, folks! Just CLICK HERE! By the way, the 51 year-old potter quoted at the bottom of the article is a Mudcatter well known for his wit, charm, good looks, and dislike of a guy named George from Texas. Anyone that didn' get to join the National Beard Registry on the first go-round can do so by going to http://www.nationalbeardregistry.org. (Navigate the site by clicking on the little doves. Jerry ain't exactly one to do things in a normal way.) Bruce |

Subject: RE: BS: National Beard Registry=National News From: katlaughing Date: 29 Oct 03 - 10:53 PM Well, holy cow, Bruce! That's something! I am relieved. At first I thought this was a thread about Homeland Security making all bearded men register since you know all of those "muslims" has got hairy faces!*G* Congrats to your frined, Jerry, and on your being quoted! |

Subject: RE: BS: National Beard Registry=National News From: curmudgeon Date: 30 Oct 03 - 08:56 AM Yahoo News also carried the AP story. What puzzles me, Bruce, is how I got into the registry just before you did. I only learned of it from your original post here -- Tom |

Subject: RE: BS: National Beard Registry=National News From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 30 Oct 03 - 10:26 AM Tom, The reason you have a lower NBR number than I do is 'cause my original registration got screwed up somehow and I had to do it over. Judging from the number of gaps in the numerical sequence it's not an uncommon occurence. *** Susan, No, there's no National Hairy-Toes Registry, but we could start one. Guys with hairy toe fetishes would be all over it! Maybe we could make it a paysite. By the way, I have a good friend whose one-time SO was so repelled by her hairy toes that toe shaving was mandatory. It was a major factor in the relationship's demise. Bruce |
