Subject: BS: Any-UK-body want a trailer? From: Ringer Date: 30 Oct 03 - 10:06 AM When I had three young kids and two dogs, the car wasn't big enough to hold them all. So I acquired a covered trailer to put the It's based on a 3ft x 4ft wooden trailer, Indespension, and has a light-gauge sheet-steel top. It's a bit like a cross between a horse-box and a windowless caravan. The rear wall drops down to form a loading ramp. And it comes with a spare wheel. Any takers? |

Subject: RE: BS: Any-UK-body want a trailer? From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 31 Oct 03 - 05:53 AM That's jolly kind of you, Ringer, old love. I have just availed myself of a rather splendid rig that Oakers rebuilt. However, I have a suggestion. For some very strange reason, folk just go apepoo for trailers on Ebay, and you could easily rack up a three figure price, part of which you might boost Mudcat funds with. Just an idea. |

Subject: RE: BS: Any-UK-body want a trailer? From: Dave Bryant Date: 31 Oct 03 - 07:12 AM How high is this trailer ? I would love one of the old Indespension 3x4 trailers, but talk of hores box, loading ramp etc makes it sound more like a "Porta-Loo". |

Subject: RE: BS: Any-UK-body want a trailer? From: Dave Bryant Date: 31 Oct 03 - 08:01 AM Perhaps "hores box" was a freudian slip. Mind you I've just realised that Essex Girl is staying at Matlock tonight and tomorrow, which is only about 10 Miles away from Chesterfield - she's got a tow-bar and probably even a spare number plate (we both tow the caravan at times) . . . . hmmmm - dare I ask her ? BTW - For all our American friends - over here in the UK the word trailer usually means something for towing goods (or sometimes vehicles) in/on. What you'd call a trailer we's probably call a caravan. |

Subject: RE: BS: Any-UK-body want a trailer? From: Ringer Date: 31 Oct 03 - 10:31 AM It's about 4 ft from floor to top. Think of the 3'x4' "box". There's a single sheet of steel goes vertically up from a 4' side, curves over the top & down to the other 4' side. The front (tow-bar) end is a rectangle extending into a semi-circle. The "loading ramp" is exactly a rectangle and when it's shut, there's a semi-circle of weld-mesh above it (which doesn't move with it) to give the dogs air. Matlock's very close. PM me if you want a phone number. (But not after 6.30 this eve, 'cos I surf from work.) |
