Hi all,

fortunately I got a flight do Ireland end November *yippiiiiieeeh*

Now I am looking for a good and possible cheap B&B in Dingle, in walking distance from Town Center. To far away is no good after a session. Made this experience two years ago ;-)

Any help or information would be gladly appreciated. You can also PM me.

Thanks in advance

Sabine

http://www.dinglerecordshop.com/ I would email Maz here, tell her Larry in New York said you should, ask Maz where to stay. She has always been Dingle's finist artist, record dealer, folk singer, and the moral concience of the town buisnesses, I would trust her advice completely and I would make sure I visited her shop.
Tell Maz BIG hugs from Genie
and enjoy Dingle
I will be there the second week in Dec.
Cheers
Larry

Enjoy Dingle, both of you! It's my wife's family's home town. If you follow the right-hand-as-you-see-it-from-town fenceline down from the tower, the old family homestead is at the bottom.

Ah Rapaire: Do you remember the Irish musicians in the window of O'Flarity's pub? I painted them in 77 or 78, great town. "The sun was setting ore the westward, the fleet is leaving Dingle shore..."
Cheers Larry

Last time in Dingle I stayed in a lovely B&B right down on the harbour (near the Tourist Info place) - a wee row of stone houses with bright coloured front doors.

And I remember the Cafe Literatura (that's spelled wrong) and visiting my wife's cousins in their sweater shop on Main Street, above St. Mary's, and being given eight ounces of Jameson to drink at 9 a.m. when I was supposed to drive around Slea Head (my wife took the wheel!). And eating at the Armada and the Half Door, where the ladies-of-a-certain-age asked my wife if they could borrow me, promising to return the dried remains. And wandering the waterfront and the sessions and driving over Conor Pass (I have photos of it in snow).

There's a comfortable hostel right in the middle.

I should have mentioned that contentment of mind is not found in a city, but I'm going to get that tinkerman who belted me in my left eye!

Thanks to you all.
And also thanks Larry. I've been to the recordshop and left a lot of money at my last stay in Dingle *phewww*
Can't remember Maz at the moment but think I will recognize her.

Yesterday I sent some inquiries to several B&Bs. We will see, but I will contact Maz for sure.

Hope to see some people again with whom I played together two and three years ago.

I'm so happy to get the opportunity to go to Ireland, can't tell you how!!!

Dingle has always been my favourite place.

Sabine
