Has anyone experienced any of the effects of the solar flares that have been reported in the news recently?

I thoiught all my FM reception in my car wa sbeing screwed up by the solar flare impact until I realized my antenna was down. That fixed it.

Ifoun my old flares at the back of the wardrobe the other day. They only come halfway up my hips (have I got taller?)and won't fasten at the front (I've definitely got wider!): more like distress flares than solar!

I don't know if it's a phenomenon commonly associated with solar flares, but I get THE worst nightmares during storms. I guess the TV is fine, but my own receptions suffers for it. *bg*

The night sky in Scotland has been amazing. Went out on the moors last night and watched flashes of red and white all over the sky for an hour-going out again tonight. Very beautiful, big explosions of light.
