You're probably not seeing the ads because of an experiment I'm trying, to eliminate a problem some people are having. What browser and version are you using?

there are 2 threads that explain the problem that Jeff is trying to fix - one on Mudcat, the other on help.mudcat.org.

Both refer to error 404 & I'm one of the people who had the problem

Well, judging from my experience, I wouldn't buy or even try the 'Windows Error- "Scan your PC for Errors right now" ad that shows at the foot of this thread. I clicked on it and it wouldn't let me out again. Just kept toggling between two pop ups. I had to get out of Mudcat entirely.

I have no problem with Safari 1.0 (v85) with OS X 10.2.4.
I see them at the bottom of the page. (just for Mac users...)

Guh!! First people complain that there are ads there, albeit quite unobtrusively, and now there are complaints that the ads are missing!

I wish people would make up their minds....

I quite like them but would be most unlikely to click on them.... the juxtaposition of some of the items offered and the threads they're attached to has been amusing - spotting the link can make for some very lateral thinking.
