I mentioned in this thread that I was presenting the 16th October "Traditional Music Hour" on the above London UK based Radion station.

Well I'm doing it again this Thursday 13th November from 2.00pm to 3.00pm GMT.

Rather than add to the old thread I've started this one since it can be heard by non London based listeners at the Resonance Radio web site.

Unfortunately the archiving doesn't seem to be operative so you can only catch it at the time it's broadcast. This time I'll be covering music from Johnny Doughty, Felix Doran, Paddy Tunney, Phil Tanner amongst others on a loosely themed show. Unless I have another change of plan and play some other stuff.

It's nice to be given a whole hour where you can play what you like, the only artistic control being the "Traditional Music Hour" title, and that can cover a multitude.

I have some spare web space of my own so I'll probably put up the playlist of the two shows so far and see if I can add a copy of the show for those interested.

Just to mention I will be presenting the Traditional Music Hour show again live this Thursday (29 Jan) for those near a radio in the London area at 2.00 pm (or you can listen live at the web site listed above from anywhere I guess).

Of course you should also listen in on the weeks that I'm not doing it when Reg Hall usually presents (although some other guest presenters also drop in to do the show)

At present I'm finalising my choice of recordings to play the "most probable" theme of the show bieng traditional recordings of the Child Ballads, unless I'm inspired to change the theme of the show by the snowy weather outside the window :-)

'The Snow It Melts The Soonest....'?

Can you get them to sort out the archive, Kevin? 'Cos I can never listen live on Thursdays...

CR

I've got a couple of areas of web space and MP3s of my shows recorded off air, and could proably get others from Reg. I'll see if they are happy with me putting them up (not done that before but willing to learn).

I'll post if there's no problem.

Looks like I may be doing a show every 4 weeks (give or take).

Countess

There may well be copyright issues with me putting mp3s on a web site but I am told that the programme is repeated on Fridays (but a week offset so last Thursdays is tomorrow and mine is next Friday). It's still showing on their web site as "Radio Ballads" Friday mornings at 7.00am.

Not sure that's any better for you Countess ;-)

A few hiccups today with false stops and starts but, hey, it's "live" radio and these things happen.
