You know `em... those times your mouth (and other parts) get ahead of your grey matter.

Like saying, "That's not Brain Science (or "Rocket Surgery)".
A buddy once desribed an individual he knew as being "paralyzed from the waist up".
Or maybe you mixed up song lyrics and came up with some strange images, or perhaps a new verse, like:
(instead of I'll Tell Me Ma):

My Pa told Ma, when he got home
"Clean up the house; get off the phone!"...

You know ye got `em. Let's hear `em!

Testify, o ye brothers and sisters!

I can never manage to sing the line 'Seven long years have I been waiting for my Willie-O' without substituting 'searching' for 'waiting'.

When I started learning Tom Lewis's 'sailor's Prayer' I would consistently sing 'sells bad steel to whalers' instead of 'sells bad beer to sailors'

don't know WHY!

Seems every time I do a song, it's an adventure. Never know where I'm gonna have to improvise the lyrics... But playing blues ain't like opther songs since if ya get *Brain Fade* then all ya gotta do is throw in "Woke up this mornin..." and everything solves itself...

Mario, a couple of mondegreens from 'Sailor's Prayer'

With Judy Lee all on my knee
And in my ear a lion

Oh Lord above, send down a dove
With beakers sharp as razors

Back when the Catholic Mass was still in Latin and I was very young indeed, the Plainsong response "Et cum spiritu tuo" ("And with your spirit") was misheard and then missung by yours truly as "Evil spirits toots and true." When asked to explain it, I replied that I couldn't because I didn't know Latin. For a bit I had several members of the class singing it my way, too. Had I been left unchecked I could have changed the course of history!

Like the story of the kids overheard holding a funeral service for a dead animal:

In the name of the Father... and the Son... in the hole he goes...

We've been here before about the time I came in but it's a fun thread anyway.
I have to say that our National anthem is not at all inspiring, but it's vastly improved if you replace the words:
"Australian all let us rejoice"
with
"Australians all eat ostriches"

Also now that it's nearly Christmas - I really like the carol about the "round young virgin tender and mild"

Does poetry count? My brother often recites a line from Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas" as

"...and he filled all the stockings with ashes and soot."
