Subject: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Lanfranc Date: 24 Nov 03 - 12:03 PM I feel I must share with you all a new concept in dieting. It is the Chet Atkins Diet - you spend so much money on guitars that you cannot afford to eat! Here is your first Diet Sheet Month One Alan |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Seaking Date: 24 Nov 03 - 12:12 PM I feel hungry just looking at it. Does the price include a spare set of strings and a thumbpick ? |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Willie-O Date: 24 Nov 03 - 01:38 PM Ah... Martin's last word in the line of Guitars For People With More Money Than Savvy. I think the economic theory is, Martin looked at what their most collectible instruments sell for, and compared that to the relatively puny amount that CF Martin & Co made from the same Guitars, and is taking a run at getting the "collectible" price right out of the shop. They probably won't appreciate, but who cares? I like koa-bodied guitars but for fifty grand U.S. I'd have expected Brazilian rosewood... Give me a Graf. He builds 'em to play and hear. W-O |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 24 Nov 03 - 01:59 PM You'd be too sacred to play it. Definitely not a fun instrument. |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Bobert Date: 24 Nov 03 - 03:02 PM Just another purdy face as far as I see it... I'll put my '64 D-18 up against it any day of the week... Heck, I'll even spot it a *G* chord! Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Amos Date: 24 Nov 03 - 03:14 PM Yeah, but a truly pretty face. One I would never spit on. Rapire, you mean c'est a rire, but I suggest you never under-estimate your own sacredness. :>) Not to take anything too seriously, you understand, but you might be surprised. I expect to be. Hope springs eternal;.... A |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Lanfranc Date: 24 Nov 03 - 07:09 PM Kevin, I like the idea of an ambrosial guitar, only to be played by the sacred but starving! But a low-calorie Graf at a tenth of the price does have an appeal, though I've never heard one. To help you achieve your ideal GMI (Guitar to Mass Index), here is another site that may help Fine Guitar Consultants Alan |

Subject: RE: BS: New Diet for Guitarists From: Mooh Date: 25 Nov 03 - 08:48 AM Sure. Think I'll sell the house to raise the capital. Nice guitar, but that much cash would buy several handmades of choice with enough left over to buy a new truck to hawl 'em with. I can dream though. Peace, Mooh. |
