Subject: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: kendall Date: 27 Dec 03 - 07:27 PM Well, it had to happen. Mr. Bush is sending help to Iran. Now, if the rest of the war mongers would wake up and realize that we should be building bridges instead of bombs... |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: GUEST,John Hindsill Date: 27 Dec 03 - 08:16 PM We all knew he would, Kendall. He just didn't do it 'quickly' enough for all those Bush bashers in the previous threads. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: Stilly River Sage Date: 27 Dec 03 - 09:26 PM Yup, Hindsill, any occasion we can find to demonstrate Bush's weakness as a world leader, we take advantage of them. There are SO MANY to choose from! |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: kendall Date: 27 Dec 03 - 09:39 PM It's lucky we don't have to create things, too much work. Does anyone see the contradiction? On the one hand, he calls them part of the axis of evil, then he sends help. I wonder if he even knows why the Iranians hate us? |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: GUEST,pdc Date: 28 Dec 03 - 02:02 AM My husband and I travel a lot, and have gone to "communist" China, and other so-called non-democratic states. We have been to Iran. It is absolutely essential for people to recognize that the people of a country do not represent the government of that country, and vice versa. There were no "axis of evil" people who died in that earthquake, just normal everyday people trying to get by. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: mouldy Date: 28 Dec 03 - 02:59 AM About 10 years ago my husband worked in the Kerman area for 18 months. He visited the ancient city of Persepolis, also in that region, while he was there. It too was destroyed by an earthquake. At times like this we need to abandon politics. There should be no hidden motives behind any form of aid. Andrea |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: C-flat Date: 28 Dec 03 - 05:21 AM The men and women from the search and rescue teams and the aid workers that follow will have only one motive, to save lives. The poiticians in the shadows will, even now, be working out how to play this out to their best advantage. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: GUEST,John Hindsill Date: 28 Dec 03 - 03:40 PM Dear Stilly River Sage, You keep carping on Bush's foreign policy weaknesses, his poor domestic policies, his stupidity etc, etc, etc. You will underestimate him into remaining in the White House come '05. You may not agree with him politically-of course you have all the information he has-but those 'ad hominim' attacks I keep reading at the Mudcat say more about those posting than about the Prez. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: kendall Date: 28 Dec 03 - 07:38 PM They would if they were not true. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: GUEST,Jaze Date: 28 Dec 03 - 08:37 PM How incredibly sad. Paper says death toll may reach 40,000. Perhaps by offering help, both sides will see we're really all the same and need each other more than politics lets us realize. |
Subject: RE: BS: Earthquake in Iran From: Peace Date: 28 Dec 03 - 08:52 PM Disasters don't have politics. Only people have that luxury. |
