Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: Amos Date: 30 Dec 03 - 08:56 PM Do you mean this one from Tyler, Texas? "...an east Texas man pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Inside the home and storage facilities of William Krar, investigators found a sodium-cyanide bomb capable of killing thousands, more than a hundred explosives, half a million rounds of ammunition, dozens of illegal weapons, and a mound of white-supremacist and antigovernment literature. "Without question, it ranks at the very top of all domestic terrorist arrests in the past 20 years in terms of the lethality of the arsenal," says Daniel Levitas, author of "The Terrorist Next Door: The Militia Movement and the Radical Right." Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: Don Firth Date: 30 Dec 03 - 08:57 PM Is THIS the article you're referring to? I don't think this will help Bush's case against Saddam Hussein. The alleged cyanide bomb was found in the possession of, not an Arab terrorist, but a Texan. Now there's a bit of irony for you. . . . Don Firth |

Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: jets Date: 30 Dec 03 - 09:08 PM thank you for your response . The issue here is that there were no Muslins or any outside terrorist involved ,hence no publicity. But the threat is as real from those within that hate the goverment. |

Enemies? We don't need no stinkin' enemies. We got friends. |
Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Dec 03 - 11:56 PM Half a million rounds of ammo is what I call "getting prepared"...with a vengeance. Chongo is impressed, but he has no liking whatsoever for white supremacists. |
Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: NicoleC Date: 31 Dec 03 - 12:26 AM But the threat is as real from those within that hate the goverment. Dangerous words that can be easily twisted to political ends depending on the listener. May I try to reword that sentiment? The threat is real from those who hate, and those who fear, and those who feel helpless. Whether an enemy is real or imagined, the human animal can be quite violent when it comes to protecting that which they perceive as their own. The American militia movement is filled with those who are AFRAID -- afraid of where the world is going, whether it might leave them behind, and if the new world is one they don't want to live in. These are very normal fears, but simply people who can't (or won't) or never learned how to deal with those feelings. What they can't deal with and understand, they seek to destroy. On the other hand, we humans are programmed to view threats from outside as threats, and threats from inside as mere challenges. |
Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: jets Date: 31 Dec 03 - 09:46 AM Nicely put Nicole c But I do wish to point out that the Federal agencys involved. worked together and did the thing right. They got there man .But no notice was taken of this. for it does not fit into the common knowledge that goverment can not do anything right |
Subject: RE: BS: weapon of mass destruction found From: Little Hawk Date: 31 Dec 03 - 12:52 PM Well, governments do a lot of things right, just like ordinary people do. It's when things go seriously wrong that one hears about it on the News. |
