Subject: BS: A Challenge From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 01 Jan 04 - 02:06 PM For our guests of good will: Guest/Navigator started a wonderful thread on Joe Pas, the jazz guitarist. I enjoyed it thoroughly and hope that Navigator will ne encouraged to start many more in the future, either as an identified Guest, or as a member. What I'm requesting is, that our Guests start a thread on something positive... something they care about and enjoy that they'd like to share with us, as Navigator did. I don't see a pressing need for more negative threads started by guests with shadowy consipiracy theories about the power structutre of Mudcat. It's easy to be negative... (far easier than being self-examining.) So, any Guests out there who would like to talk about something they enjoy, or feel good about. Navigator has shown the way as his name states. C'mon fellas, and ladies... turn the heat down for a minute and start a thread about something you love. And if you do, please post the title of the thread here, so we'll be sure to look it up. Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: GUEST,g Date: 01 Jan 04 - 02:23 PM Start a thread on something worthwhile eh? Like polish sausages? You will have to bear with us, we are new and as such our intellect is not yet up to scratch. As for conspiracy theories, aren't they mostly being put forward by one of your own? Or an ex one of your own, it is just so hard to decipher. |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: Nigel Parsons Date: 01 Jan 04 - 02:23 PM Amen to that; the cross ref is Joe Pas, why he is the greatest Nigel |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: GUEST Date: 02 Jan 04 - 09:08 AM And you wonder why guests get nasty and rude? Look at the assumptions you've built into that opening post. Not that you aren't being judgmental as hell, starting YET ANOTHER guest bashing thread. No, you are a good, holy Christian sort of guy, who just likes to get passive/aggressive in internet chat forums. What exactly is YOUR POINT? Besides starting another guest/member flame war, hmmmm? |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 02 Jan 04 - 09:20 AM Jerry R - the point is that they are on about things they love - they love to fight - or better yet, get others to fight. I'm now going to consider asking every GUEST 1) what music do you like to listen to? 2) what instrument do you like to play? 3) what other things do you like? Three Strikes, you're out! :-) Robin |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: GUEST Date: 02 Jan 04 - 09:22 AM well, I've been tossing around that very same idea - to start a thread called "musician's block," but just haven't gotten around to it yet...maybe later today or tonight. Can't quite figure how I want to word it, and the title doesn't seem quite right either, but anyway.... |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: GUEST Date: 02 Jan 04 - 12:03 PM Here's a link - click here for a thread titled "Musician's Block". It's a story about musically inclined female bricklayers and the men who dare to love them in a small West Virginia coal mining town. Actually it's about being able to play yer music good on some days and bad on others. |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 02 Jan 04 - 03:29 PM Hey, Hey... Guest Martin Gibson started a thread, and I added a couple of posts to it. Of course, there are many guests who do start threads. I would just find it refreshing to hear what the guests who are always angry do when they're not being angry... Jerry |

Subject: RE: BS: A Challenge From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 03 Jan 04 - 11:32 AM That's fine with me, Kevin... Guests are welcome. I'd like to be able to be a part of a thread they start... we've already had two recent Guests start threads of their own... perhaps in response to this thread. Jerry |
