Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Bobert Date: 12 Jan 04 - 09:22 PM Too cool! I'm takin' both of my cats to the humane society in the mornin' and just have this one to play with. It don't throw up on the couch. It don't crap in my shoe. Hey, life is good... Bye, bye, Meeko the sneak... Bye, bye, Emma the squeak... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 12 Jan 04 - 09:23 PM All right! A cat that doesn't bite, fart or knock things off the shelf! Just does cute shit. But I do sorta wish ya could pull the little guy's tail and make it yowl. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Ebbie Date: 12 Jan 04 - 09:29 PM First you'd have to find the tail. I did discover though that by circling the head rapidly with the mouse, the cat goes into a tizzy. Pretty much as it would irl. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Helen Date: 12 Jan 04 - 11:07 PM Bobert, did you notice that the url has the name Maukie in it, which is probably the cats name, so you would exchange Meeko & Emma for Maukie. BTW, just a coincidence, but hubby's cat is also called Emma. Helen |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: LadyJean Date: 13 Jan 04 - 12:44 AM Musetta Kitty is still looking for the other cat on the computer screen. She just loved it. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 13 Jan 04 - 02:28 AM There used to be a little program called Meeko which you loaded into Win (3.1 was the version then!) which used to have a small cat chase the screen mouse around. If you didn't move the mouse, it would just curl up and sleep... wonder what happend to it? |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: JennyO Date: 13 Jan 04 - 10:50 AM It's awfully cute! Did you notice that if you scratch around the middle of its head between its eyes, it meows, and if you scratch its tummy it purrs. I like playing with its tail and ears and making them twitch - just like a real one, only my cat would probably lose patience and bite. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: mack/misophist Date: 13 Jan 04 - 12:05 PM Foolstroupe: The program is called Oneko and is available for wintel machines. Last time I looked, it was still there. He looks nices if you edit the graphics to make his tongue pink. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Dead Horse Date: 13 Jan 04 - 01:52 PM And there was I, expecting some smutty, lewd and lascivious internet porn. What do I find? A cute little kitten. Imagine my disappointment! |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Cluin Date: 13 Jan 04 - 06:14 PM Position the hand cursor in front of the cat on the "floor" and one paw bats at it. Position the hand above center and it reaches the other paw up. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Bobert Date: 13 Jan 04 - 06:27 PM Helen, Thanks fir bring the name of tha cat to my attention. Heck, I'm sure Maukie would come to "Meeko" but, sniff, I ended up keeping the two idiots I got: Meek the Sneak Beeker and Emma the Squeaker Beeker... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Burke Date: 13 Jan 04 - 06:30 PM "Scratch" quicky back & forth quickly between the ears & you get overlapping Meow's. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Helen Date: 14 Jan 04 - 05:08 AM Bobert, I used to have a very quirky cat called Frederika the Squeaker, because she didn't meow, she just squeaked, and rarely at that. Foolestroupe, There is also a cute cat called Felix which shows a small black & white cat walking around your computer screen. There are some clever bits, like when Felix is walking along the top of one of the small windows (Windows open on your screen) and you close the window, the cat falls down to the bottom of the screen. It is a free download. Helen |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Nerd Date: 16 Jan 04 - 01:50 PM Bobert, I trusted you weren't REALLY going to take your two cats to the Humane Society, but I am surprised that no one expressed outrage before you fessed up that you were keeping them! I'm interested that both you and Helen have had cats with a squeaky name. My cat is Squeakyfish. The first part of her name is precisely because she never used to meow but only squeak. Now, she meows and makes little "Prup" sounds and a bunch of other things but for many years she just went "eeee, eeee!" |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Cluin Date: 16 Jan 04 - 02:37 PM My girlfriend's Cairn Terrier meows when she yawns. And she yawns a lot. She also has a mohawk running along the top of her muzzle |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Raptor Date: 17 Jan 04 - 06:48 AM Squeakyfish is just about the best name I ever heard of for a cat! Raptor |

Subject: RE: BS: Cyber-pussy From: Helen Date: 17 Jan 04 - 10:50 AM Nerd, We generally translate most of Bobert's posts with a "mischievous grin" attached. I doubt if anyone of us would have thought he seriously meant that about the Humane Society. Helen |
