It's time to address the real threat, not the made-up one. He who most effectively controls and uses Weapons of Mass Deception, is the greatest threat to the World.

Some of those weapons being:

The stealing of an election, through legal chicanery and friends in the right places.

The smearing of the reputations of those who would expose Mass Deception, such as inspectors who reported Iraq's lack of WMD's to the U.N.

The control of a compliant mass media, which willingly repeats lies, exaggerations, and misconceptions, and dares not question authority.

The notion that it's perfectly all right to attack people who have not attacked you and effectively cannot attack you.

The blaming of an act of terrorism on people who didn't do it.

The launching of an unprovoked war of aggression supposedly as an act of self-defence.

The practice of colonialism under the guise of national liberation.

The assertion that one is defending democracy when one is doing nothing of the sort.

The assertion that one is serving God and humanity when one is doing nothing of the sort.

The notion that mass murder in the cause of patriotism is an excellent idea.

The idea that any domestic opposition to a war of aggression is disloyal and unpatriotic.

The practice of sounding like a believer in "freedom" while in fact taking away people's freedoms and constituional protections, piece by piece.

A public that allows itself to be seduced by Weapons of Mass Deception long enough eventually finds itself in the terrible position that Germans found themselves in in the 1940's...and the Germans are not a stupid people.

If you can round up a mess of blind barely-animated robotic semi-hypnotic mass-minded believers and followers who will swallow any party line you offer them and promulgate it with complete conviction regardless of illogic, discrepancy, inconsistency, or demonstrable falsehood, and get about 145 million of them rounded up, why you haver one hell of a weapon of mass deception, right there.

Well, it all comes down to "framing" issues and it's time fir those of on the progressive side of the equation to demand our leaders to out-frame the bad guys! Pure and simple. Looks as if the Dems are getting wiser to this reality, thanks to Howard Dean! Now, they gotta keep it up and be willing to counterpunch when Bush's PR folks try to frame Bush as some kind of friggin' hero fir "bringing perscription drug benefits to our seniors", fir "passing the 'no child left behind' education reform", fir "puttin' America's security out front against the terrorists"... See. he has a lot of PR crap to get thtu and it won't be easy because he has the microphone and the $$$$'s. Reality is that the one with the most $$$$'s wins....

Like I've said, this one ain't gonna be easy. The folks who are most effected won't even vote unless a Dem can frame the election in amnner that get's him out and then the Dem's gotta hope that they will get this potential no-voter to vote Dem.

Yeah, we know that Bush is a crook, a liar and a thief, But, we also happen to, ahhhh, care....

According to my fellow Pittsburgher Paul ONeil, Bush was after Saddam from the get go, long before 9/11. I hope he didn't let 9/11 happen to give himself a good excuse to invade Iraq.
Of course if Saddam was breeding velociraptors... I suppose we could sell the beaties and make the war pay for itself.

One of the bad-news dinosaurs in "Jurassic Park". They were 'discovered' in the 1920s; that is, their remains were found. Foot structure something like birds, I think. (Birds of prey are often called raptors.) I stand to be corrected on this stuff. BM

Wow! The Weekly World News has outdone itself on this story. Verrry scary indeed!

Walking Eagle, the velociraptor is/was a fairly small but probably very fierce hunting dinosaur that may have hunted in packs. It had powerful hooked tearing claws on its feet for attacking its prey, and a mouth full of very sharp teeth. It stood erect and must have been a very fast runner. It also had large eyes and a large brain, indicating good powers of observation. The name velociraptor means "fast predator". They probably ran around in packs attacking other creatures and devouring them. A number of velociraptors could undoubtedly have killed a somewhat larger dinosaur if they worked together...and I should think one of them could kill a human being with the greatest of ease. Their speed on foot would probably be comparable to a modern ostrich...their fighting ability to a modern panther or tiger (at the least).

I note in the news today that the suicide rate of US troops in Iraq is up considerably...probably because they are daily faced with the disillusionment and sense of futility that follows in the wake of the large scale use of Weapons of Mass Deception.

Also, of course, they're probably depressed because they're stuck in Iraq where they can do little or no good...instead of back home in the USA where they could protect their loved ones from Saddam's deadly velociraptors!!!

Paul O'Neills news that Bush was after Saddam right from the start
is actually old news, in 98 congress passed a law saying that Saddam should be removed, Clinton signed it.
The real news - is that O'Neill is ground centre republican.
and he was fired because he opposed Bush's tax cuts for the rich.
