Recent pictures from Sundance show an obviously increasing cragginess in our Bob, but his hair looks like it has been through some kind of spin dryer. It can't be that he has to comb over, he has a pretty good hairline.
Meanwhile, was there ever an engagement ring between J-Lo and Ben? Was it returned?
Also, has anyone heard any of the nominated, or about to be nominated, songs for the Golden Globes/Oscars. I read somewhere that Sting had done a song for Cold Mountain. Huh? I don't remember hearing him or his song.
Someone out there must know the answers to these, and other world-shattering questions.
(It is 11 below zero, has been for three weeks, we are getting cabin fever in Canada).

Interesting questions, Peter. I didn't see any of it, so I can't offer an opinion...except this: Yes, Sting did write a song for Cold Mountain, it was sung by a female singer, and it sounded very good to me.

But here's what I think. I think that Michael Jackson and Britney Spears should get married on the shortest notice possible and announce it to the world press...in order to take media attention off their respective troubles and put a more positive face on things for 2004.

WE, a no-hair day is a great excuse to wrap your head up in a decadent, wildly-colored silk scarf. :-)

It has always puzzled me why very wealthy people, like Bill Gates or Donald Trump, have such terrible haircuts. I know they can afford better. Is it just that no one wants to tell them they look goofy?

Kim C, I have often wondered that myself, about The Donald. With all his money he should be able to buy a decent cut. David Leterman did 7 or 8 minutes the other night showing pictures of Trumps hair. I think he must know that his locks are a popular topic.

Trump. He's got this red stuff on his head then a bunch of white stuff under that. I think that he should put some blue highlights just on the tip of the white stuff. Red, white, and blue! Very patriotic!

Walking Eagle--when my Mom went through chemo and her hair started coming out in clumps she went to see a neighborhood barber and asked him to shave the rest off. He very considerately led her to a chair in the back room so she wouldn't be in view of the general public and took care of it. She felt so much better, and then she wore a variety of hats and soft poofy things.

I've been under the impression that Redford, like many of us beyond a certain age, has some help maintaining the color of his hair. The men I have known who had red hair through their adult years had two things in common: 1) they went by the name "Red" and 2) as they got older it was more like salt and orange juice (versus salt and pepper). It gradually got lighter as white hair crept in. Robert Redford has seemingly held off that stage. But they still could call him "Red!"

As the scene opens we see Spaw getting up off the floor. It's obvious he is dazed as he has problems focusing and is very unsteady on his feet. He flops into a worn office chair with the glow of his computer highlighting his pale face. He looks quite ill. Leaning against the adjoining wall he stares uncomprendingly into the monitor. Over the next few minutes he gathers himself and begins to look somewhat normal. He removes his glasses and leans forward reading the words before him. Finally after he has obviously reread the words several times, he leans back in his chair and slides his glasses back on after cleaning them. After a few moments, he utters a few words, his voice ahs a tone of disbelief and confusion that is obvious as he utters a few words..................

Um, I think getting married on the shortest notice possible was what got Britney her headline this month...also getting divorced (ok, annulled) in the shortest time on record even in showbiz. And even she wasn't drunk enough to marry M. Jackson on a whim.

As for Redford, never mind his hair, what is with his cheeks? He always looks like he's stowed away a bunch of nuts for the winter, or has he gotten that fixed?

And Peter, 11 below (Celsius I presume) starts you whining about cold? Christ it's been minus 34 and minus 32 (FAHRENHEIT) Saturday and Sunday mornings...you oughtta come up in the hills where the real weather is, if you can find your mittens. I'll give ya chainsaw lessons. Balmy minus 25 this a.m., almost springlike. Is it snowing in Toronto yet? I gather you may get the worst of that in the next 24.

I say we hold a "cuteness" runoff between Robert Redford and Michael Douglas, as to who has the best chipmunk cheeks. (getting old is a drag...)

And I still think the Britney/MJ marriage idea is the hottest publicity stunt ever thought of yet. I oughta get a million dollar check for coming up with it. Madonna could be "best woman" and get to give away the bride.
