The next Sing a Round at The Bull in Barton is on March 8th. Everyone welcome, and after the massive success of the first ever Charity Mic Night, I am up for it even more than ever, how about anyone else? Thanks to everyone who turned up last Saturday,hope to see you all at the Sing a Rounds soon. March 22nd we have Theo Thomas and Janet Strapp and maybe some of their friends to play the last forty mins. April 5th is a Paul Simon Songs Night. April 19th is a Sing a Round night with Steve Last doing the forty mins. Don't forget the Hertfordshire day of song on Saturday. News just in Redbornstoke Morris are coming on June 14th to dance and then join in at the Sing a Round. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

No - I can't come out to play this weekend - got to tidy my bedroom

Got that info for you - the vullage hall costs £ 150 for a Saturday night and £ 90 for a Friday night (both 6pm to 12pm)- deposit is £ 100
You have to organise a pub to come in and run the bar - they normally do this for free if they are charging pub prices - maybe £ 10 for a license - the hall takes 180 people
Hall is currently booked until June - so say 3 months booking/lead time required - other rooms aren't a lot of cop

An alternative is the British Legion at Harpenden where I am a member
They have a similar room for £ 95 a night
It's separate from the Legion, but the bar runs through into it - so no palaver in sorting that out
Harpenden may be better located for the audience you are seeking

Village Halls are a lot cheaper to hire up here in Lincolnshire! You could have ours for £40 any night of the week! Complete with excellent catering facilities.

Oh Goodie Ross I can't wait. Just got back from the Day of Song in Hitchin, which was excellent and I was only there for two and a half hours. Hilary and friend was there and Mr Kippers by Post person and a man I know from St Neots folk festival and Dave Bryant the Mad Mudcapper. I am going to The Golden Lion in Bourne tomorrow. Watch out for Dave Bryant, you never know we might be able to get over here some time. He is playing at Breezys Spotlight Club soon.Look out for what I thought was a very spectacular pint pot but turned out to be a two pint pot,(or quart pot) I think he said.

Yes that is a BIG HELLO. By the way I have got the date of the audition at Greenbank. And it's Tuesday April 6th. 7.00pm. So I will book a room for us at Greenbank for next Thursday which is 18th March. I will then go to Chesham on Monday and summon the others. The FOLKAHOLICKS are coming dude, I can feel them.
