this is a continuation of a previous thread, started by Jerry and now closed.

I just read ellenpoly's profile & decided to do one too. i had not previously done one as i didn't think i had enough of a musical background to put in. but after reading ellen's i decided to just put biog info in anyway.

are you posting but haven't put a photo or profile in? why not pop a photo in? it helps to look at the pictures of people who are posting, and even more to read about them.

it also helps those using the chat room, sometimes i thought i was chatting with a woman and it turned out to be a man, or vice versa.

Thanks, freda: I hadn't checked the photos and profiles in a while and I'm glad to see that more people have contributed. I don't spend as much time in Mudchat any more because my computer is very ornery and uncooperative typing a sentence. I type two or three letters and it stops, and I have to click the mouse in the space to do the next two or three...

But, it was fun to run into you and Ellen this morning...

Well, I got a piccure that BillD took o' me over there but I ain't never done no profile 'cause it wouldn't make much more sense than my usual postings. Plus, I don't know how to do one... Everytime I try to do somethin' on the pudder that I ain't done before, I end up having to yank out it wires and take it off to the fix-it shop....

I'm driving my multitude of fans crazy with anticipation....(not)

Actually, I am planning on posting pics and a bio, but I want to wait until my latest guitar purchase is officially mine (late fall, early winter). That way I can include pics of my three guitars, three cats, and one wife. (She allows the one, adores the other and absolutely positively demands the third. I'll let you decipher her priorities. :-) )

Thanks to everyone for posting pics and bio information. It makes chatting and posting so much more fun.

No profiles for us yet, since I haven't figured out what I want to be if I grow up, and we haven't figured out what LiK is yet. But she has decided to try a free trial to post some href="http://waterhole.smugmug.com/">WVA festival pictures.
1. There's way too many pictures there.
2. Most of them are really poor photographs.
3. Neither of us ever knew who lots of the people are, and can't remember much from the early years (they start with 1983).
4. She hasn't really decided whether she'll pay to keep them up after the "free trial."
But they do give a little idea of what the "Winfield" festival is, that we keep talking about.

I the meantime, till I get my profile up, there are photos of me in events - the one about the birth of my grandson Max in July last year (4th and 5th pictures down in part 2) and one in the billsables/lorna oz tour in Dec/Jan this year.

I've missed 3 years since 1983 (and we've got several years for which we ain't found the pictures). Lin's a newby since 1994, or thereabout.

We still need i.d. for a couple of stage groups. Any ideas?

Folks, I've asked Pene Azul to post another picture of me to the Profiles. The one I had him do yesterday was taken while I was at work. The new one was taken at home, and I'd just gotten the news that I would no longer be on display, so I had my jacket on and was all ready to leave.

I sometimes think it'd be good if, next to our names on posts, there could be some kind of ikon that would indicate whether we had a photo, and maybe if this was clicked that would open it up. It might encourage more people to be aware of it, and when we got curious about a post, it'd be fun to have the ability to do that. (And we should probably include an option to say we didn't want that ikon there next to our posts, even when we did want a photo in the gallery.)

I like McGrath's idea. Wouldn't it be fun. Maybe we could submit photos that covered a range of emotions - anger, love, puzzlement and then indicate our mood at the time of posting. Joy - here read happy, smiling face.

Another vote in favor of McGrath's idea. Just a little doohickie to let folks know if a picture or a profile is available. Then, when folks add a picture or a profile, you could go and see "the rest of the story." Also, it would be nice to know when someone does add a picture or profile. Maybe this happens so infrequently that it would not be worth the trouble, but for new members it would be nice.

Kind of like the idea of indicating F'dawg's idea in theory. Mudcat can sometimes seem like reading a foreign novel with 1000 characters.
