Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Mar 04 - 11:06 AM Sopranos Trailor Park Boys That's it. They are the only 2 TV shows I've actually seen in the last 3 years, cos I haven't been watching TV except when I visit Raptor and watch his DVD's of those shows! I have to give both those shows 10 out of 10. Maybe even 11. Way back when I used to watch Star Trek Next Generation, and really liked it. Other than that, most of my TV watching was in the 70's. - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: Peter Kasin Date: 25 Mar 04 - 11:40 PM Whoa! How did I leave out All In The Family on my first post? One of my alltime favorite shows. What does that bump from that list? Tough one. I guess Police Squad, since it was only on for six (hilarious, though!) episodes. Chanteyranger |
Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Mar 04 - 11:49 PM Just watched episodes 1, 2, and 3 of Soprano's 2nd season on DVD. What a superb show! - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: Ellenpoly Date: 26 Mar 04 - 04:10 AM From the past- Bonanza Ed Sullivan Dr Kildare Smother's Bros TWTWTW Twilight Zone In the 70s, I was out of the country, and didn't watch much telly. On my return I caught up with; Star Trek Monty Python Masterpiece Theatre And more recently- Star Trek NG Babylon 5 The Simpsons Buffy/Angel The Office West Wing 6 Feet Under ER Funnily enough, I watch far more TV here in England, than I did back in the States, and most of them are American Shows at least six months old! The state of British Television has sadly declined to shows on cooking, DYI, gardening, and far too many "real people doing crap things" for me to count. PS-Not asked for but I'm including it here anyway...the ALL-TIME WORST TV program I can ever remember seeing was "Boudicca". |

Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: jacqui.c Date: 26 Mar 04 - 07:26 AM I'd forgotten Buffy, X-files and 24! I agree with you Ellenpoly - UK tv is abysmal these days. I'm temporarily housebound and can't stand the pap that passes for entertainment much of the time. Thank goodness for DVD and video. I' part way through watching series three of B5 on DVD - superb series - can't wait for the remainder to become available. |
Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: John MacKenzie Date: 26 Mar 04 - 08:05 AM Thank you Sooz, I was tempted to put M*A*S*H down 5 times, but assuming it to be my first choice the the others are. Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 26 Mar 04 - 11:13 AM Giok, thanks mate - I'd completely forgotten 'Rock Follies'. Fantastic! Rula Lenska - Ggggggrrrrrruuummmpphhhhhhh!!!! Sex on a stick! And Julie Covington - great voice and excellent actress. And it reminded me of a series called 'Shabby Tiger', which was the vehicle for the first TV appearances of Prunella Gee and the wonderful Sharon Mughan, former star of the Gold Blend adverts (now changed her name to Maughan because that's what everyone calls her). Brilliant story, great scenery, superb acting (if a bit 'seventies'). I'm going to lie down in a darkened room now. Johnny :0) |

Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: ranger1 Date: 26 Mar 04 - 07:07 PM I refuse to acknowledge any episodes of Due South after they switched Rays. I had a hard enough time when they switched Diefenbakers, but as that was mostly a non-speaking part, I could deal. |
Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: GUEST,dinnerlady Date: 26 Mar 04 - 07:37 PM Six Feet Under Sex and the City The Office The Royle Family Monty Pythons Flying Circus Nighty Night Any good doc (did anyone see The Boy who's skin fell off??) Fawlty Towers Anything with Michael Palin in it |
Subject: RE: BS: Top 5 TV Shows From: John MacKenzie Date: 27 Mar 04 - 04:26 AM Funny how tastes vary, there are at least 3 of Dinner Lady's choices that I would go to the end of the world to avoid. Still it's good that we're not all the same, I've watched the Benny Hill show dubbed in Portuguese, and I've read Asterix in the oridinal French, By Toutatis! So at least some humour travels. Anybody else in the UK loving 2DTV? John |
