Subject: RE: BS: England V Windies 2nd test From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 02 Apr 04 - 11:21 PM Thank you, Shlio. Is this about cricket? We watched cricket on TV during our last trip abroad. Didn't understand it, but it was fun to see the enthusiasm of the audience. |

Subject: RE: BS: England V Windies 2nd test From: Arnie Date: 03 Apr 04 - 04:11 PM Briliant - looks like an England win on the way despite the strange decision to field first. Our first series win in the Windies since I had a paper round....... |

Subject: RE: BS: England V Windies 2nd test From: Ed. Date: 03 Apr 04 - 05:36 PM Well we did it! You can argue the West Indian team is weak, but that's not our fault. I paid for the luxury of Sky Sports for a month, so was able to watch quite a lot of this. The thing that has struck me most, is the real team spirit of this side. I haven't seen anything like it in my 25 years of serious watching. The professionalism of the 'back room' team shouldn't be underestimated either. Duncan Fletcher has done a great job. When was the last time we had a 4 pronged pace attack, when none was rubbish? Bring on Australia! |

Subject: RE: BS: England V Windies 2nd test From: The Shambles Date: 03 Apr 04 - 07:24 PM Was this the first series win in the West Indies for 36 years? It was good to see the smiles of those old players and past captains, like David Gower and 'Beefy' who had visited and suffered heavy defeats in the past. Such a result was so far from their bruising experences and perhaps they were the only ones who really knew the true significance of this victory. For them to see poor old Brian Lara walking back with all the bruises inflicted upon him by the England team's fine quick bowling attack - must have been sweet indeed. This West Indies team is not a good one and the England team looks to be a good one. Just how good - we will only find out when they have to play the Australian team. |
