I'm one of those people who has vivid dreams- and sometimes, unfortuately- remembers them. Last night's takes the cake. (Keep in mind that I'm an elderly, very sedate woman and go easy on me!)

I dreamt that there was a post on a Mudcat thread: In the Subject line it said 'Flame-out Above Birmingham'. The message was 'At least Spaw lives'. Signed: Arse(s) in Ashes

(I don't remember whether the signature was singular or plural)

Has anyone else ever dreamt about the Cat?

Mine weren't quite as specific as that, Ebbie! Hmmmm...dreaming of an enflamed Spaw!?!**bg**

Here's some of what I've dreamt.

And, here are some others' postings about the subject: Clickety.

Thanks for sharing that very vivid image!

Seems to have been the night for strange dreams - I dreamt that Phoebe from 'Friends' was emptying my daughters' money box because it was labelled 'Phoebes money box'.

hahhah, LtS. Dreams- I love 'em.

I must apologize though- I missed the previous Mudcat dreams thread. I never even checked through the filter which I ordinarily do, a previous incarnation seemed so unlikely.

WYZZY, if you dream about LH's goat with brucie in hot (ha!) pursuit, I will think it has gone too far.

I must stop eating something before I go to bed.... last nights offering was even weirder.

A whole group of Mudcatters were waiting for a No. 304 bus to take us from London to Yorkshire, for a funeral. Everyone was in their best black clothes but had a rainbow on them... Geoff the Duck was in black flares with rainbows along the bottom, I had one rainbow legwarmer and proper shiny heeled shoes, everyone else had a rainbow sleeve, a rainbow top or some rainbow ribbon somewhere about their person, but otherwise all in black. When we were getting on the bus, one person kept leaving a baby behind, there was a large black laborador who wouldn't get out of the sofa in the waiting room, Sorcha had long hair and was asleep under a table and Hammersmith Morris team were waiting to come with us, all in brand new kit.

Anyone want to try and translate? (Other than increasing the dosage, I can't see any meaning, other than I hang around morris dancers too much!)

Liz - you're welcome in my dreams anytime you like - I'm sure I can manage to include plenty of booze, chocolate . . . and other things.

Not about Mudcat, no. But I do dream about libraries I've worked in (especially the first), missing all the classes in one college course and then realizing it's time for the final exam (a common one, I understand), and the other night that my wife had thrown out the trout net my brother made for me.

I asked her about it later, but she said she had no idea what I was talking about. And since the net is currently residing on a stack of books which includes "Godel, Eshcer, Bach", "A Brief History of Time", "Sword and Masque", and "More Mountain Spirits" she might well be right.

By the way, the last is about making liquor, not religion.

I dreamed recently that my father, who's been dead for 8 years, threw my new Martin across the concrete of a large hotel's underground parking garage, whereupon I tackled him to the ground and began strangling him and slamming his head against the floor.

Every really memorable dream I've had in the last year has involved a hotel, but that's the only dream I've ever had where I assaulted anyone.

The day I dream about mudcat, rather than my more usual bare naked ladies, will also be the day I know I have truly reached middle age!

As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.

But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How could you be so slow"
"My child," He said, "What could I do?
You never did let Mudcat go."

SueB, I sat here laughing so hard I couldn't go on to the next post for a couple of minutes. But I do think your action against your father was probably justified- throwing a Martin??

Liz the Squeak, Let's analyze this:
A whole group of Mudcatters (who else?) were waiting for a No. 304 (Significant number, no doubt) bus to take us from London to Yorkshire, (Why Yorkshire?) for a funeral (Whose?). Everyone was in their best black clothes but had a rainbow (hmmmmm. Either a mood brightener or a gay symbol. You tell us) on them... Geoff the Duck (Why him, specifically?) was in black flares (What's a 'flare'?) with rainbows along the bottom, I had one (Only one?) rainbow legwarmer and proper shiny (Such a good sign) heeled shoes, everyone else had a rainbow sleeve, a rainbow top or some rainbow ribbon somewhere about their person, but otherwise all in black. When we were getting on the bus, one person kept leaving a baby behind, there was a large black laborador (Babies and Dogs. Can't help you) who wouldn't get out of the sofa in the waiting room, Sorcha had long hair (You know Sorcha has short hair. What gives?) and was asleep under a table (Under a table?? Come on.) and Hammersmith Morris team were waiting to come with us, all in brand new kit. (You're on your own there. We don't have Morris dancers. I sniff.)

Great poem, Straw Legend! Sounds like a good Mudcat Challenge.

We were on our way to the Mudcat Gathering in Yorkshire (this weekend, so that's the significance of that, excited to be going), the No. 304 has no significance to me at all, I don't even know if London HAS a No. 304.

Flares are those trousers popular in the 1970s with bottoms wider than the waistband, I can only find one of my rainbow legwarmers so that's why I only have one. Why Geoff specifically I don't know, except that of everyone I know, he is the most likely to own a pair of flared trousers with rainbows on them.

I KNOW Sorcha has short hair but it was her, and she was under a table asleep. I don't know.

I've upped the medication and stopped eating just before bed..... maybe that will do it.

I had a dream my peepee ran away and joined the circus.

When I woke up it wasn't gone, but it WAS packed up and ready to go.

Old Joke warning!
I dream I'm performing, having miraculously acquired skills in voice, guitar and harmonica. Audience of enthusiastic Mudcatters congratulate me on sounding like Mississippi Fred McDowell, Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee and Howlin' Wolf.
I wake up and people say I sound like Roddie McDowell, Ellen Terry, Henry McGhee and Virginia Woolf.
It could be worse...Debbie McGhee and Andi McDowell!
