Subject: Max--how can I refresh a thread? From: BSeed Date: 13 Oct 98 - 03:29 AM Max, how can I refresh a thread if the refresh boxes are right on top of the Support the Mudcat button? For that matter, how can I support the mudcat if the secure server never responds when I click on its link? Without actually making the effort to get to the post office for a stamp to put on an envelope addressed to the 'cat, containing a check which I'd also have to make an effort to write (we're talking about major lazy slug here). Actually, I was about to copy something from an earlier post, had some difficultly doing so, lost my head, clicked the close box, left the Mudcat, and by the time I got back on, my thread, Missing Mudcat Blues, had dropped off the bottom of the threads list. --seed |

Subject: RE: Max--how can I refresh a thread? From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Oct 98 - 03:38 AM Can you get to the "filter" and "age" boxes and the "refresh" button at all, Seed, or are they covered up by the "support Mudcat" graphic? Are you using a small screen, maybe a laptop? If you can't reach those, you can refresh a thread by finding it in a Forum Search and reviving it by posting a new message. In a previous thread, Max said he is aware of some problems with the layout and the way it works on some monitors, and a repair is in the works. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Max--how can I refresh a thread? From: BSeed Date: 13 Oct 98 - 01:36 PM Joe, I'm working on a Mac with a standard Mac 15" monitor. The filter, age, and refresh boxes are on top of the Support the Mudcat button, but don't respond. If I try to set my cursor in the filter box, up comes the support the mudcat page. I'll try the Forum Search link (I guess I saw it before, but it never registered). Thanks, --seed |

Subject: RE: Max--how can I refresh a thread? From: BSeed Date: 13 Oct 98 - 01:46 PM Joe, I tried Forum Search with no results, both by name of thread and by a distinctive phrase. --seed. If your refresh boxes are working, would you mind refreshing Missing Mudcat blues and Twelve Bar Blues? I'd greatly appreciate it. Meanwhile, I'll get my check to the 'cat in the mail. --seed |

Subject: RE: Max--how can I refresh a thread? From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Oct 98 - 01:58 PM Hi, Seed - my screen resolution is 1024x768, and I get a wide open space on the right side of my monitor that accommodates the search box and the Support Mudcat graphic. People who have their display set at a lower resolution may be the ones who have problems because things get too crowded together. I chaven't changed my resolution to check it because it's a hassle to do it, bue I think that's what happens. The probles seem to have started when Max added the "Support the Mudcat" graphic. Maybe this thread will coax him to come up with something that won't crowd other things out, like maybe a horizontal banner graphic.... You have to be patient, though. Max does have a life to live and a business to run - and he recently revealed that he has a wife and I think he said 16 kids. -Joe Offer- |
