Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Wolfgang Date: 30 May 04 - 03:37 PM The only thing that could be said for the German team is that they have not been on form at the last world cup too. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Ranks Date: 30 May 04 - 01:31 PM Germany will win. But I always say that |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: ard mhacha Date: 30 May 04 - 09:31 AM I predict that England will be thrown out of the tournament because of unruly drunken louts. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Wilfried Schaum Date: 30 May 04 - 07:37 AM As the great German trainer S. Herberger said: the ball is round, and a game lasts 90 minutes. That means, these are the only things for sure you may predict. The luckiest team will win. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 29 May 04 - 07:25 PM Well, once you have run up against the more orc-like English football fans, there is a strong temptation to hope for whatever result will, in the words of God Save the Queen "Confound their politics, Frustrate their knavish tricks". In Sainsburys today I saw they have produced hot cross buns with a St Georg's Cross. (But they were selling them off cheap because they hadn't sold at full ptice...) |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: GUEST Date: 29 May 04 - 07:13 PM Racist! |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Gareth Date: 29 May 04 - 07:11 PM Hmmm ! Round Ball Game I's not watching ! Just remember the Old Welsh saying " I support 2 teams, Wales, and whoever is playing England" Gareth |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 29 May 04 - 03:04 PM That link I gave to the UEFA website went pear shaped. This one should work better. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Mrs.Duck Date: 29 May 04 - 01:50 PM Brain and heart say please let it be over soon! |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: George Papavgeris Date: 29 May 04 - 01:37 PM Heart says Greece, brain has a good laugh. I agree with Wolfgang - Netherlands, I think. And as an underdog, Croatia. They have shown ability to surprise and shame, and they are hungry. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: GUEST Date: 28 May 04 - 09:35 PM My prediction is they'll have those new moving colour video adverts facing the camera and as a player moves left the advert moves right and I can't concentrate and I'll switch off because money will have taken over even the field of play. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 28 May 04 - 07:53 PM Germany is not on form, I gather. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: GUEST,Den Date: 28 May 04 - 07:41 PM On paper Wolfgang I'd have to agree with you but they do have a habit of chocking in the big games. BPL about time England did something but will they miss Ferdinand? I have to agree with France but you know I kind of fancy Portugal. They are at home and they have a young quality team and of course you can never count the Italians out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 28 May 04 - 07:21 PM Here's the official UEFA Euro 2004 site |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: TheBigPinkLad Date: 28 May 04 - 04:52 PM My heart says England, my head says France. |
Subject: RE: BS: Euro 2004 From: Wolfgang Date: 28 May 04 - 04:23 PM The Netherlands Wolfgang |
Subject: BS: Euro 2004 From: GUEST,Den Date: 28 May 04 - 12:52 PM No this is not a thread about a Mudcat gathering, its about the football (soccer to N. Americans) tournament taking place in Portugal in a couple of weeks. So before anyone starts, if you don't like the game or the topic, then please don't participate. We had a little fun with the last world cup thread so I'd like to see a few predictions even weird ones. I predicted that Oliver Neuville would hit the post in the final and he duly complied. So what do you think? Who will win? Will it be host's Portugal, will it be Spain or current champs France, will they take it again. Will it be England or will this be Holland's turn for a major honour. The groups are as follows: Group A Greece Portugal Russia Spain Group B Croatia England France Switzerland Group C Bulgaria Denmark Italy Sweden Group D Czech Republic Germany Netherlands Latvia So there you are. What do you think? |
