I am not sure as to how one gets into Non Musical Threads--but this is such an entry.

My delight in seeing this film---Gloomy Sunday--was that I did not need the sub titles being that I speak German. However, as a film, it is quite good. The twists near the end will truly blow your mind.    I will not give that away. Suffice it to say it is a great love story ( like some old ones) with new twists and turns.

It started in Australia and by word of mouth spread to this country (US) after 2 years. Word of mouth now has it in many local venues.

Well worthwhile---und if du sprechen deutsch--so goot. It is subtitled---but, knowing the language there are more nuances in the actual dialogue. The sub titles are good though.

Sehr geehrte Mr Hen

Do you mean 'wenn du deutsch spricht, so ist es gut'?
'...being that I speak German' ...Bitte? - possibly you should try getting English right first.

OK--correction. "..und sol sie sprechen Deutsch--so gut".   Undestanding is easier than writing.

Geherte Guest: OK---corrections---some correct and some not-- noted. Now---the film which is the subject matter. Let us not get bogged down in trivia and detail.

Let us get to the subject matter.

Geherte Guest:---that, by the way is the correct spelling of Geherte. I think I know English rather well.   My understanding of Austrian German is quite good.

As said, the point was the film.

As to language ---Hahn is Rooster. So I am not your Geherte Herr Hen.

I think you laid an egg here--while we are speaking of hens.

Seriously now, has the film been seen and what are the thoughts on it?

By the way---it is "sprecht" and not "spricht" Herr Guest. As said---understanding is easier than speaking or writing. You, however, have claimed to know the language so well I am surprised at the errors.

Let us speak of the film----Is das nicht gut?

Guten Abend

Bill H
