they should build holiday places there, like spane, i heard its really hot there, and people could go to holidays there, as Spane is getting really crowded nowadays.
And the cost of living there is really cheap.
probably get a big meal there for a couple of pounds.

Do you mean by 'real football' the one where they wear pads? You big girl's blouse.

The Iraqi national football team, surprisingly, played a game in Congleton the other day(in Cheshire.England). There are lots of Iraqis who play football in Stoke. And they certainly like going to the seaside, because I have been to the sea with a minibus full of Iraqis and they all skimmed stones.

They should build a Butlin's there jOhn - The Basra Butlin's, trips very nicely off the tongue dunt it? They could put that guy with the big moustache in charge - what's his name, Saddam summat or other. We've not heard anything about him for a while, I reckon the Yanks are retraining him for a mid-life career-change. He'd be great with the little xylophone, announcing "Hi-De-Hi" at six o'clock every morning.

Hey, one of the things Bush is most proud of is that Iraq will compete in the Olympics.

Aaaaah! So it wasn't torture at all - it was the Iraqi Olympic Team being honed to physical perfection by their Anglo-American trainers. Thank God for that.

I have no idea what they should do about Iraq, and I'm having difficulty figuring out why anyone should think that I would, considering that my participation in threads on this subject has been pretty limited so far.

Gareth is a pro-Bush Welsh man I believe. I am a anti-Bush Cornishman. Other than that I am sure we have a lot in common, but I am definitely not the same person(but then, if we were, I'd probably pretend we weren't, wouldnt I?). Aren't you the same person as that Martin Gibson?

I had my supper in an Iraqi cafe in Stoke last night, in company with people from Iraq,Iran,Somalia,Sudan, Guinee, Congo, Liberia and England(we had had just taken the big drumming band up to play for the closing cerenony of the Manchester Youth Games. The food was good, the management friendly, the pictures of scebery on the wall fabulous, and the musical videos on the big TV screen great (particularly the two Iranian women singing while washing a car, with the usual problems of inadequate and wet clothing...this was made by exiles, naturally, and could not be shown in Iran).
Anyway, my point is, the tourist trade should get going soon when things have quietened down a bit(surpriaisngly, it has already started, which is a good sign, people are going back to the region to visit family). Anyway, a holidayin north iraq looks a great idea to me(I've selected the noth for the scenery..mountains,lakes, woods etc).

Hi Greg,
Iraqi cafe sounds good, there's a few in Hull, good grub, good atmosphere [apart from when the local scumbags aren't trying to firebomb the place!]

I reccomend you try this meal next time you go[not sure how you spell it], but its pronounced=Kooma Sabsi, its Lamb, dried lemons, dill and lemongrass, it's not hot like a curry, best way to describe it is lamb stew, [Iraqi Stew?]!

Unfortunately the Iraqi/Kudish cafes in Hull don't seem to attract much local support, most [well over 90%] of there customers are Iraqi/Kurdish, Afghani, not sure why, as the food is excellent and well priced.

Quick plug for Kurdistan Restaurant, and Azadi Cafe & Bisto, [both on Spring Bank, Hull.

For Persian food ingredients, try Tabarak Food Stores, Spring Bank, if you go there, say hello to Naz, and say jOhn from Avenue sent you.

You can't be Carol Gibson because 'Carol' is not a guitar name. Stella Gibson might work, though.

Oh Dear - that Nutcase CarolC surfaces again. Actually Carol your contribution to any thread, Music (on the rare occasions that you post in that section) or Non Music, is pretty limited, predictable, and merely done as a boost to your own self importance.

But then, to quote the Chinese proverb -

" The malice of the unworthy is to be prized more than fine silver "

Gareth

I like the idea of being named after one's guitars.

How does Martin Lark-in-the-Morning sound? Or should I go back to Harry Bonners Ferry?

It just so happens some frinds of mine named their child Martin Fender Guild. I had suggested that if they chose Epiphone Fender Guild his name would be alphabetical.
