Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Mr Noah (Dave Van Ronk) From: GUEST,Frogman Date: 10 Dec 14 - 01:26 PM Very nice, Threelegsoman, but allow me to say that the version from Nina y Frederik has additional verses at the end, including the last one that does mention a Unicorn. I will try to find the time to put it on YouTube within the next two days. Hope I am not running into some copyright infringement... please let me know if you know otherwise. Thank you. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Mr Noah (Dave Van Ronk) From: bubblyrat Date: 08 Dec 14 - 09:28 AM I have today been disabused of the idea and / or practice of spelling names containing the Dutch word "van" , as in of or from ,with a capital V , thus (I assume ! ) the guy's name should be Dave van Ronk. But I expect that I am wrong again !! |

Subject: RE: Mr Noah - song lyrics From: Little Robyn Date: 07 Jul 04 - 04:02 PM Yes, at the end Nina would say something like "You know there's no such thing as a unicorn!" They toured NZ and presumably Australia in the early 60s, when the only other overseas 'folk' on offer included Clausen or Theodore Bikel, so we thought they were lovely. Later I gave their record away! |

Subject: Mr Noah - song lyrics From: GUEST,Russell Cowell Date: 07 Jul 04 - 07:20 AM I'm looking for the lyrics to a song which I believe was titled "Mr Noah" and which I believe was originally performed by Nina and Frederik. Sorry to be so non-specific but I never heard the song in its original form - just several friends performed it so I'm not absolutely certain of its title or origins. The song itself is a supposed dialogue between Noah and an animal who was not sufficiently lucky to be included in Noah's passenger list on the ark. I can remember none of the words except that the chorus finished with a rather corny little duet of "doodly doo, doodly doo, doodly doodly doodly doodly doodly doo" Anyone able to help? |
