There is no leader, GS. It's a musical collective of the loosest kind, and the only rule is no rules, saving the only Commandment. Anything that happens there is unlikely to make the next re-writing of the History of the English Speaking Peoples, so we're quite relaxed. We usually attract several local members of the light entertainment industry and happily bang along with them in the key of Barton. Bloke thinks he's chief anarchist, so it is worth PMing him for parish notices and the like, although he has sub-contracted the job of laying on commestibles to me for this bash.

jOhn, I'm surprised at you, being a commestible logistics executive!

I have now successfully negotiated a sumptuous buffet with the lovely landlady, Jo, and had to think of a number attending, so I said 'about twenty', so please can appetites be expanded or contracted depending which side of that line we fall attendance wise?

I set my hat at taking the new Wurlitzer, complete with electronic sound reproduction equipment, including applause, helicopter noises and that endearing drum roll at the beginning of Eastenders. We'll have hours of fun!

Great evening. Good to meet Sir j0hn, Ossonflags, El Ted (wow!), Sweetfia (even wower - nice voice girl!), and many others. Great playing and fantastic music all round. And Willa - a lovely lady and a lovely voice, 'Blackwaterside' and 'Reconciliation' were excellent.

And what about the two little lassies playing whistles! My gob has never been so smacked! Such talent - makes me feel like giving it all up and retiring to Eastbourne.

Just a small negative - slightly on the smurky side, but what the hell - us non-smurking Linkunsheer puffters wuz warned beforehand, I'm a big lad and I can live wi' it for the sake of the music!

A little advance warning here, the BIG half term session in the Six Bells, Barrow on Humber, will be in just under three weeks time, on Tuesday 26th October 2004. That's half term, so the young folks who came last time won't need to get up for school in the morning. Make arrangements, book the evening in your diary, last time it was a real stormer, let's do it again on the 26th. I'll tell Jo, the landlady, and she'll provide tasty morsels. And in case you haven't been before, it's in Barrow on Humber, about 4 miles east of the Humber Bridge south side. The beer is good, and I think everyone last time agreed the welcome was very friendly!.
Look forward to seeing you all there, and of course at our regular Tuesday sessions, if you fancy coming.
